For me it is pretty simple...

When writing on Lit.. I take on a *character*.. a *role* and write for that character. None are me, persay.. yes I am the writer, so who I am does shine thru in a subtle way..I think that goes for all writers.. a little of you always comes thru...

When *cybering* in IMs on Yahoo or AOL or where ever, that can be very different, for now you take the *character* or *role* out of it and are just talking of a sexual expierence between you and the other. No story. No characters, and in my opinion, no real creativit. And it fosters that feeling of *cheating* that others mentioned. I find it very different to cyber as me, and write as another character in a fictional, erotic story.

Now, that said, if you read one of my stories, the Darkness Falls, Moon Rises, Hunters Awake story, .... You will find an entry in there where I WAS talking to the other writer in IMs on Yahoo... and we actually Role Played the story there, between us, because we both had that creative energy flowing and we went into *character* and role played out the erotic expeirence between the 2 characters.. but that is the difference, it was the characters of Kimma and Luta.. NOT me and the other writer. Hence I posted the whole conversation, the whole role play, into the story.

So, I guess the point of my babbling is... There is a HUGE difference between...

* creative erotic writing on Lit
* creative erotic role playing on IMs on Yahoo or AOL or MSN
and
* just plain cybering in IMs on Yahoo or AOL or MSN
Perhaps some people do not see the difference.. where as many others, especially here on Lit.. most certainly do...

Well I was trying to be light hearted and humorous. Didn’t think it would get two responses of, ‘Too close to cheating.’

Shoot me, but I don’t get that, no touchy touchy means that no adulterous transgression has taken place. Its like saying masturbation is cheating if you think of someone other than your partner.

Where I know I confused most of you was referring to it as Cybersex…when I should have called it SRP Live…so my most sincere apologies.

I am well aware of the sensuality of erotic prose and the creativeness of the LIT family. I have had the pleasure of SRP’ing with a few wonderful ladies on here (though my postings of late have been few).

I guess what I was looking for was a positive reply from a lady, along the lines of, ‘I have tired live SRP and found it to be fast paced, exciting and thinking on the spot was exhilarating and satisfying.”

Well, to be frank I SRP instead of Cyber for one reason.

I LOVE RP!

If I was here for the sex, you look at my RPs. I've more than had the opportunity. But would my characters take that opportunity? No. To get to my characters, you need to EARN it. That's why I get angry when someone tries to quickly force my character and draw a quick orgasm when forcing themselves on my character (LG ).

My character's are more oft than not a challenge to get, and those that actually get to an SRP should feel good of their skill of seduction and manipulation. Yeah, my SRP skills aren't great by any mean... but still.

Once upon a time I cybered and I couldn't get enough. Indeed if I did not get enough there were certain things I couldn't do in real life. I had a constant burning passion for cyber but it was RP cyber not simply me.

After a while I started writing "me" and such word, this was a hard and exciting change for a while but I stuck with it and it was fun too.

Then I got bored with the whole cyber thing and I miss that fever.

I SRP instead of live chat rp or cyber now for that reason and also because the live chat rp sites had NO storylines really. It was mostly socialization and I had to write the damn storylines. If I'm going to write them anyway, I might as well write them here without 10-50 other people horning in and fucking it all up or being back stabbing little nut cases.

I'm all about role play, sex, stories and writing but someday I'll quit this too and hopefully get back to my novel which I would like to finish even if it doesn't ever get published.

Oh and I nearly never masturbate while doing any of the above though it is nice to simmer. Sometimes if the session is really good and creative I can come from words alone. Sometimes I read it later in the privacy of my bed room and masturbate. (*cries for lap top*)

Yes, I will admit it has enhanced my sex life enormously. I do not consider cybering cheating in my case because my husband knows about it and is cool with it.

I find it alot more stimulating to share thoughts, ideas, story lines with someone or even others moreso than just cybering. Phone sex is ALOT more satisfying than cyber...... literally vocalizing your emotions, hearing the other person breathing heavily into the phone, hearing them reach their peak moment in pleasure.

As far as it being cheating or not... that depends on the individual. If you feel in your heart that it's cheating and that it's wrong, then don't do it. If it doesn't bother you.... then carry on with it.

I find this whole series of questions somewhat confusing. I suspect that is why no one has answered.

Instant chat takes up all of your online time, it's very demanding. It can bring about intense role play, cyber and bonding. Sometimes the whole thing is so intense it can confuse folks to where they become obsessed or in "love."

It also leads to less complete writing because you are just typing off the top of your head. The immediacy can be very hot but the writing tends to suffer.

This is why, I suspect most on here prefer the SRP's to the chat. I could be wrong.

OK throwing my two cents in, for what its worth. I have SRP`d with some of the lovely ladies who posted here, so I hope that qualifies me.

I first came to lit via the chat rooms. a dear friend outside of lit had introduced me to cyber, and pointed me to the stories here.

I enjoyed the cyber in the Lit chat very much, and naturally progressed to phone sex, which is delicious, sadly, the opportunities are not as much as I would like, but thats life.

Then I stumbled upon SRP, which I enjoy immensely, although, i do have to be in the right frame of mind to write them. I also write stories, which I hope has helped me.

I dont consider cyber cheating, more a means to an end, that satisfies a need.

As to SRP, I am still a novice as I see it, I have problems if a thread gets too complex, and IMHO over populated, but that is for personal reasons, that are not for this post.

I do not use SRP, as a means to an end to find ladies for cyber, if it happens, it happens.

I also agree that there are some men, who just look to cyber, and once they get their release, they run. A practise that abhors me btw.
