A 71 year old Illinois woman drowned on a Fort Myers, FL., golf course when the cart she was driving veered off a steep slope into a pond.
Margaret Scott did not know how to swim and the cart sank quickly in the water hazard at the Landings Yacht Golf & Tennis Club. Her husband, Maurice, and other golfers were unable to rescue her.
Sheriff's Deputy Larry King said Maurice Scott had just hit a chip shot to the green on the seventh hole when he motioned for his wife to pull the electric cart forward.
