For the geographically challenged

You know what's weird? I did it twice. I got 88 percent, 119 miles error and 491 seconds for the time. The second time was 82 percent with an average error of 77 miles and 418 seconds. I think they're figuring in how bad you biffed it; I was busy laughing at something and accidently dropped Hawaii in British Columbia and gave myself an error of 2700 miles. (Thanks kat, for telling me camel jokes when I'm being all competitive!) That's the only way I can think of that it percentage dropped when the other two improved. We need one of these for Canada. I'd kick booty in Canada.

Very cool, WD. All my time spent playing with 50 states puzzles really paid off.

I scored 92%, with an average error of 6 miles in 310 seconds.

I shocked myself when I got Iowa exactly with none of the surrounding states in place.

For a Canadian I scored 58% . The NE States were easier than the middle ones. Average error was 282 miles.

A score 92% with an average error of 13 miles and a time of 231 seconds

100% in 211 secs.

For goodness sake, I'm Canadian. Maybe being a geography nerd (re: Xelebes) has something to do with it.

I'm so impressed with Canadians and Europeans doing so well!!

I would suck horribly at Canada or Europe. Even tho I took a geography class in college and we had blank maps we had to color in for tests.

I'm American and got 96% and 11 miles, first try, most of those 11 miles cuz I dropped Hawaii wrong on accident.

I'm impressed with myself :D

48 out of 50 perfect - 96%, Average error 3 miles, time 426 seconds

I got lucky - the first ten or twelve were either coastal states or butted up against something like one of the great lakes or the Canadian or Mexican borders, so all I had to do was match one side of it to where it went, lol

And of course, I've lived here longer than most people in Lit! :nana:

Being a geography nerd isn't that great. When we had the Great Canadian Geography Challenge in grade 8 I got 82% and I thought I did terrible until I saw everyone else's score. The closest score was at 18%. Boy did I stick out gregariously at that time. I did go on to prove as the school champion that year as the nearest score for the whole school was 35%. I missed the provincials because I moved just when the competition was on. The year before I came third and the year later when I was in the other school, I was sick when the initial test was written. But apparently the highest person scored that test at 89% in my Grade 9 year.

But as I look back, those questions were hard.

Which one of these maps is Mozambique? (The four options were of the shapes of the countries.

Which is the longest river in China? (That one was the winning question in the School-wide championship and I answered that one with the Chinese name - Yangtze-Kiang.)

Man, I feel nerdy.

I got 92% Avg. error of 38 miles in369 seconds...I don't know why I feel compelled to do these things...oh!wait a minute! I'm killing time that's why! times up though, now dinner needs to come out of the oven!

49 out of 50 wooohoo! :) I rock :) Just kidding -- but I am a geography nutzoid! Fun thanks WriterDom!

i agree, it sounds like you opened your wings to take off and found your butt frozen to the ice ...

Ow lol. Well not much ice in Florida, but oh the fond memories of the frozen tundra in Minnesnoooowta. Blehhhhhhh (no offense to any Minnesotans out there...) I wasn't really thinking of flying however -- :p

Ok, I'll be honest. I suck. I got 64%. But I have a good excuse. I'm an army brat, so we moved around a lot. I missed the part of geography where we learned where all the states are. When I was in fifth grade the sixth graders were learning that, and when I was in sixth grade the fifth graders were learning it. LOL You'd be amazed at what subjects I missed learning cause of moving.
