For Serious Espresso Lovers

Though a bit pricey, I'd buy one just because the design is so exquisite! Perhaps some friendly sprite will give it to me for Christmas . . .

Oh wow. I was to say, "no way that thing produces sufficient pressure," but apparently it does. The specs say it produces 9 bar, and that seems to be as much as with other machines for home use. The pro machines produce around 15, though, which is why espresso never turns out quite the same at home. At least, it never did for me!

I've reverted to this embarrassingly lo-tech solution:

Nothing wrong with that. My sainted grandmama used one like her whole life and she knew what espresso was before the founder of Starbucks was even born!

I stopped at Williams Sonoma this evening

Per the Sales Associate, this store top model doesn't make true espresso, but only "Italian Coffee."

I had a stove top model in my college day--it makes a very good cup of coffee. But I have to agree with the Sales Associate. But considering what a real espresso makes costs--this works extremely well.

As for now, I have a french press--very good, bit not espresso.

And think what an impression you'll make when you whip that out at the New Year's Eve party to make your espresso. :D

New Year's Eve Party, New Year's Eve Party . . . I used to know what a New Year's Eve Party was. Unfortunately, HM always works New Year's Day. Still, I'm sure an occasion to show off such an artistic` piece of culinary equipment would arise eventually. I'll put it up on the list next to the LCD projector . . . :D
