Promised to one brother to unite two kingdoms, Dayani was sent from her home and peoples to be tuaght how to dwell amongst the people she would one day be queen to. During her time there she learned the man she was promised to Alfonz was little more than an abusive horrific monster. However during her time there she grew to love his younger brother Alejandro... He was gentle and loving of her caring deeply for her but daring not go against his parents wishes nor his brother knowing well his brothers rage.

Alfonz was the eldest son and did not hold to his fathers "loving" ways of dealing with the subjects. He traveled much and in his travels he found his waay to the desert lands of Dayanis peoples and upon seeing her... the free spirit wild beauty he was determined to own and break that desert wildfire no matter what it took.

Alejandro seemed distant to all around him moody and deep though he was the most loving caring of the brothers. When Their father agreed to make an arrangement and kingdom pact with the Desert people he was curious as to why his brother was so eager for this to happen. Then one night he found out why. She was beautiful. so exotic and filled with Mystery he had to find a way to get Father to let him marry her love at first sight had his heart and would not let go.

Now to begin the Tale...

~Another night at Alfonz hands Dayani had crept away when his snores grew strong and deep. SMall cuts all over her from him tracing her fragile form with a dagger taunting her to not move he did not wih to cut her and when the word cut was spoken the dagger would dip and cut into her tanned skin. One of his many "games" before he would force himself on her and her to do things for him and to him. Slowly painfully she made her way down the hall to the room his mother had created for her till the wedding not that it stopped Alfonz. She wondered if they knew just what all he did to her or if they cared since she was an outsider

Crumpling into a heap in the hall as far as she could get from his room due to her weakened and bloody state. Tears fell as she curled up there. Tiny cuts all over her fragile form burned, her lip bruised though that was all he did to her face... Had to keep her beautiful for all the kingdom to see he would say. Quickly trying to move to the shadows to hide from the footsteps she heard coming towards her not knowing it was Alejandro

((OOC: Needing the two brothers and their Father and mother various guards and a lady in waiting sent with Dayani to the new land))

OOC: This sounds interesting. I would like to be Alejandro. Should I post a description, or just start with the story?

OOC: At the request of Asa, I am taking on the role of Alfonz. Asa, it is my honor to take on this role.:D

IC: Alfonz fell asleep after another night session with Dayani, a smile on his face. He woke up a short time later and noticed that she was not in the bed with him. "Oh well, she probably went back to her room," he thought to himself as he lay back on the pillow. Alfonz thought to himself about the fun he had with his bride-to-be. Quite often, she had to be coaxed into having fun, but he didn't mind teaching her the proper way to please him. Images flashed into his mind of the times he used his fists or other things to get her to do wha he wanted. Alfonz had decided a long time ago to rule his woman like he would his kingdom, with an iron fist.

Alejandro

He sat in his room looking out the small window to the night sky, he than looked over across his room and saw how the moon light shined off his armor and weapons. He was a warrior; he trained with many different weapons and knew different fighting techniques with every weapon he trained with. He looked at how the moon seemed to show the battles and blood of every person he wanted to fight and the few battles he did fight, it was not pretty. He always held back, he never wanted to hurt people, the few fights he has fought, and he has lost badly. Sitting by his breastplate and leg guards was his Katana, buckler that strapped to his gauntlet and his Assassin dagger and his Warhammer that he carried on his back. All of his equipment was there, but he was not a man that ever wanted to use them, he wanted a time of peace. He only sat and stared at the night sky wishing that would happen.

Dayani walked by his room in a hurry and he only shook his head, for some reason he knew why she was in such a hurry, he stood up and grabbed his Assassin dagger and strapped it to his waist and he walked after her, he saw her on the ground in her room and he slowly kneeled and looked her over to see that she was ok, but he knew she wasn’t, he saw the cuts and wounds upon her as he lay there in tears.

“Dayani, are you ok? What happened to you?”

He saw she was bleeding and he stripped his shirt and wiped some blood from her wrists and where ever else he saw it, she hid her face from him.

“Dayani, its me Alejandro, I wont hurt you, I only want to help, now tell me who did this so I can take care of them.”

He waited for her response, but for some reason he already knew who it was going to be. This was one thing he did not want if he ruled the kingdom.

Dayani

*Her eyes told him... The would be king his older brother. THe beast of a man she was promised to. She understood from a young age that daughters were little more than tools of their parents to gain favor and allies of other kingdoms and Alfonz was her fate

She did not try to push Alejandro away she just sat there trembling her mind trying to come to terms with what she knew was to be her life. Alejandro had always been so gentle an tender to her he was who she found herself loving but knew that if that was ever learned it would mean death for one of them. She leaned her head against his arm as she sobbed silently.*

Alejandro

I knew what happened to her from just her eyes alone, they told the tale of abuse and pain.

“Dayani, I know what has happened and things like this shouldn’t happen to you. I don’t care if he is older than me, he will pay. I am a warrior and he is a coward, has used me to get away from his fights, that is why I train every day and I wont let him get away with this.”

He grabbed her and pulled her to him and hugged her with care and love.

“Is there anything you need Dayani, I will do and get anything for you.”

From the way he was looking at you, it seemed if you asked him to rip his brothers heart out, he would do it and give it to you. You saw how much he cared for you through his eyes and heart. He would die for you and he wouldn’t think twice about it.

~Dayani~

*She smiled to him and whispered*

I... I should rest *Voice trembled as she watched him*

You... I will not let him hurt you Alejandro *eyes look away a little and downcast as she whispers* THis is a daughters fate for her people

~King Alohn~

The night was tranquil and calm, a promise of serenity for his people, and better days ahead. It was the sort of night that people look forward to, the weather perfect, the sky clear, and even the insects stilled.

Unfortunately, the night hadn't heard the old saying of "Heavy is the head that wears the crown". For all the peace of the world, and the exhaustion that he felt, King Alohn was wide awake, and worried.

The concern came from the new presence in the royal household. Not just her physical presence, but the new tensions that had become noticible lately. Servants were whispering more and more, gossip mills were running non-stop, and life in the throne city was different than it had been before.

Alohn had known that his eldest son was going to be a difficult man. The child had fought the constraints of society from his youngest days, but had embraced the potentials of his social station. He fully expected to be allowed anything he wanted, and felt no remorse for causing pain and suffering. His military service was expected to teach him discipline and compassion, but it had apparently only pressed him into torture and ruthlessness. Alohn had secretly hoped that his son would be killed on the marches, since that death would not only remove him from the line of succession, but would also clear his name of some of the taints it had already contracted.

Then he had returned, bringing with him tales of the desert, and the people that resided there. Shortly after that auspicious event, word had arrived that their enemies were interested in reaching a diplomatic solution. And, equally surprising, his son had developed an interest in politics, requesting a wife of these strange people.

Once she had arrived, Alohn could see the attraction. Dusky, lithe, and tightly muscled, she could easily attract the attention of any man who saw her. And obviously had.

The first noticible change had been that the number of servants being forced to submit to his son's twisted will had dropped dramatically. Alohn was no longer paying suffering prices to enraged families, or covering up indignities. His son had found a focus for his perversions, and Alohn wasn't sure if he approved or not.

The largest problem he faced was that the Desert People were strangers to his people. He had heard the usual tales, of course. They were cannibals, they worshipped strange gods, they practiced polygamy, they had the ability to drive members of the opposite sex out of their minds with desire, etc..

Alohn had to agree that at least one of those rumors seemed true. For all that he cared for his wife, he found his mind drifting to the images of these strange people. A small entourage had arrived to assist her in completing her training on her new world, and each had the same dark looks and aura of mystery.

He turned back to look to his wife. She slept, and he envied her the ability. He needed peace of mind, perhaps an understanding of his fears. With a sigh, he slipped from the room, passing his trophy hall, his personal armory, and his bodyguards. Perhaps a walk would clear his mind.

~Yasmina~

*She walked along the Corridors of this place that was to be hers and her Princess new home. A soft sigh fell as she walked. They frightened her especially once she had seen wha tthe One her princess was to wed did to her. A soft tear fell from her eyes, the faint scent of Night Jasmine billowed around her as she sought to figure out what her king had sent his only daughter to this horrid place and if she should send word to him or her Queen on what is happening here. SHe did not realize that anyone was nearing her as she walked slowly and quietly on long well toned legs and slender bare feet*

Alejandro

He looked to her at her response and he only shook his head, as he knew you and his brother were like this. Or maybe that is what you wanted, or maybe he thought of what you said the wrong way.

“Fine, you want to protect that bastard, whatever you get your rest and when you awake and he summons you again and beats you like a dog, don’t cry to me. I hate my brother and I hate seeing him do this to you, you don’t deserve this. Stop with these non-sense abuse, fight back, run away. But please I do not want to see you like this. It breaks my heart to see that. But if you want it that way, than fine.”

He stands and he walks off to the door and than he looks back and you see the care in his eyes.

“I am sorry Dayani, get some rest.”

~Dayani~

*Before he can go she moves to kiss his cheek*

I thank you for your care and concern Alejandro Sir

*quickly dropping her eyes from him her hand touched his cheek briefly then laying down she was too tired and weak to argue*

He was surprised that she kissed him on the cheek.

“You are welcome Princess, I am sorry for acting like an ass, so if you would excuse me I must return to my room. I am sorry for bothering you.”

He stood and when she touched his cheek, her hand felt so soft and warm, it brought peace to his mind, and when she kissed him, it made his head spin. But he stood and bowed low, than he walked to his room and took his Katana out and he stared to it, he fell into a trance as he stared into his sword.

~King Alohn~

The monarch paced the long corridors of his home, trying to collect his thoughts. He had found that his most difficult decisions could be made while in these halls, among the images, crests, and items from his ancestors, people who had likewise faced hard times and choices that could mean gains or losses to their subjects.

It also helped him to take notice of the changes in the images. King Ehldehn I looked down upon him, a man of bristling beard and rough limbs, the drawing positioned above a display of the massive pole-axe that had been his preferred bargaining tool. Two images down, Eldehn's grandson was portrayed in a tile relief, a calmer man, almost effete in comparison. Eldehn III was said to have been an enlightened man, responsible for removing many of the established methods of torture for prisoners of war. (The fact that he had instead called for simple defenestration of any captives seemed miniscule compared to the injuries that had been inflicted in previous generations.)

His reverie was broken by a faint odor of something delicate, almost floral. Smells of this sort were rarely noted outside of a few chambers in the castle, and Alohn was intrigued. A few turns of the corridor, and he came upon the source. And froze.

It was the chief lady in waiting of the bride, another of the exotic women of that far land. Alohn briefly wondered what it was of that country that created such people. What he had seen of the deserts had shown him people battered by a harsh environment; stooped, squint eyed, skin weathered to worn leather. But these people that had arrived...

This one was a fine example of the finest points of whatever breeding took place there. As with the younger woman, this one was lithe and dusky, hair that asked to be held and stroked, and features that could mesmerize a man. Her form spoke of concealed muscles, and an agility that many of his people had long since lost.

Despite his reminders of his position and status, he found himself thinking his eldest to be perhaps a man of some reason. A woman like this as a wife could be a definite bonus. If only his son would gain some sense in his bedplay.

"Lady Yasmina."

~Yasmina~

*She jumped a little at her name being called with teh word Lady attached to it. Briefly glancing her eyes quickly darted to the floor as she froze where she stood*

Yes Sir

*The accent thicker than Dayanis it was rare she spoke to any but Dayani and the Queen. trembling slightly her eyes closed hoping she was in no trouble for her wanderings*

~King Alohn~

The lady noticibly startled at his voice, almost flinching. Alohn narrowed his eyes for a moment, considering what history would lead to such a reaction. Of course, he'd seen such actions before, but usually with slaves, or prisoners with broken spirits. Guilt, fear, perhaps shame of some sort?

He moved closer, pausing a discrete distance from the lady.

"My pardon, Lady Yasmina. I didn't mean to startle you."

He glanced to the window, taking in the view beyond.

"Is the sky here radically different from that of your home?"

~Yasmina~

*She looked to the window and out to the skies*

Not too much the stars seem more distant though Sir

*Seeing what had happened to Dayani she feared one of them doing the same to her which prompted her more lowly actions and was such expected of servant caste people her her homelands palaces*

~King Alohn~

"Not too much. The stars seem more distant though, Sir."

Smiling to himself, Alohn looked back and forth between the horizon and the stars.

"When I was young.. well, younger, I spent a summer in the mountains south of here. I remember watching the skies at night, trying to understand that the sky I saw was the same sky visible at home. Mostly, though, it was to deal with loneliness, homesickness."

He allowed himself to once more drink in the sight of the woman staring out the window. Part of him hated his son for injuring a woman such as this. Another envied his son for having found a woman such as this.

"Is this what troubles you tonight, Lady Yasmina?"

~Yasmina~

I worry about Dayani Sir. THis place seems to do much to her.

*Looking to the floor briefly tanagling her fingers together before her biting at her lip slowly looking up a little but never right at him*

((Leaping the SRP to Dinner the following evenings Dinner to get teh SL running again PM Anything you think should have happened during the rest of the night or day and will incorporate it into a generalized post))

~Dayani~

*Sitting quietly she smiled softly to the Servers as they brought the food to the table for them all. Her eyes remained a little down cast unless any at the table spoke to her and avoiding any eye contact with Alfonz at all.*

~Yasmina~

*Sighed softly watching Dayani she did not understand them wanting her to sit at this table with them but was glad that she did not have to leave Her Princess side*

Alfonz sat at the dinner table cross from Dayani. He was talking to his father about some political matter, but would steal glances at his bride-to-be every so often. He knew why she wouldn't look him in the eye or speak to him, and he silently thought to himself that she would have to be punished for her disrespect tonight.

~Dayani~

*Her eyes briefly looked to Alfonz when mention of her people she understood. Biting faintly at her lip soft eyes then looked to his father then back to the food before her*

~Alohn~

The meal was supposed to be an affair of some prestige - servants in their best livery, the finest trappings about the hall and banquet board, exotic arrangements of marinated beast and delicately cooked vegetables. For the life of him, Alohn could hardly remember any of the usual fanfare of the arrival and seating, beyond the fact that he could take in the two women sitting across the board.

Yasmina was still the mystery to him. He remembered the histories of the conflicts between his people and hers, yet couldn't reconcile the seeming submissiveness that she showed. It truly rankled him that a person, servant or no, could be so lacking in what appeared to be normal spirit.

In contrast, her appearance tonight was only more exotic and appealing than it had been the night previous. Her hair and eyes drew his sight in, and compelled him to keep it there, unable to notice anything but how the lights danced there, or the lines that her hair fell in.

He found himself losing track of the meal, the conversations, and even the presence of his family members and courtiers. After the conversation the night before, he had found her invading his thoughts more and more. He wondered if he was losing perspective, but then felt that his fascination came as much from the fact that she was from a different culture, one she was desperate to save. As well as protecting her charge.

~Yasmina~

*Feeling eyes on her she glanced up looking around teh table till her eyes met the Kings. Biting her lip slightly she offered a frail polite faint smile then cast her eyes another way watching Dayani and ALfonz. Fearing what her Princess silence would gain her this night from the beast who was to be her husband*

Alejandro

He rose from the ground in his room to see it was nightfall already, he grabbed his sword and strapped it to his side and he walked outside his room and he headed toward Dayani’s room. When he got there he didn’t see she was there, but a servant told him that dinner was being served. He shook his head and he walked out of her room after leaving a few white roses on her bed and he walked out and headed past the dinning hall, he paused long enough for Dayani to see him and than he walked past and headed to the kitchen to get his food, he always did this, he never ate with the others, he absolutely hated it. He walked in and he served himself and quickly he walked out to the backyard where he always ate in silence and by himself.

He sat and thought about what he should do. He always thought about just up and leaving, but he didn’t want to never see Dayani again, she always brought a smile to his face and he liked that.

~Dayani~

*SHe sighed inwardly she understood why but she hated that Alejandro never joined them for dinner. SLowly eating she glanced once more to the king and Alfonz wondering how the two brothers could be so different and which one their father was truely more like. She saw him looking to Yasmina and wondered more about him and his intentions but still said nothing*
