Hey Guys I need your help.

I am doing a triathalon in May for Charity (don't worry not an Olympic distance one :D ) and I need help choosing a charity.

I thought about victims of September 11th (but as they are in the richest country in the world I thought there are probabaly other ways of them getting sorted).

Then I thought about refugees in Afghanistan.

Children Charities (cos I got 2)

Arthritis, Heart and Cancer charities (cos my folks have suffered with these ailments)

Now I am all confused - so please vote or comment and help my decision.

Thanks :)

They are all good charity's, hell what charity isn't good?

Personally though I tend to give most of my money to animal charity's, mainly because I feel that most people tend to overlook them when it comes to donating money.

But if I had to make a second choice, I would go with the Arthritis Foundation as so many people suffer horribly with this painful disease, more research is needed in this area.

thanks...

...for the reply

there was me thinking that the whole board was so introspective that no-one could be bothered :(

Animal charities in the UK get loads of support so that is why that wasn't on the list - something to do with your very own national icon - Rolf Harris.

I voted other because you had 2 on there for kids. I'd pick anything for kids...just because they are usually helpless and need that help badly. They are also our future. I have 3 kids myself and anytime I see stuff about kids on the news or to horrible tv comericals about the kids in other countries...I just cry my heart out. Anything scientific has many rich supporters. Especially if an actor or singer or whatever has a disease. You can't go wrong when helping kids...just my opinion :D

thanks Brat for the comments - I think I will decide to spilt the money (just have to make my mind up which)

Cystic Fibrosis

CF gets my vote. But then again my Daughter has CF. I know that CF is prominent in the UK as it is here in the States. Reasearch has been making great progress toward a cure but they are not there yet. For those of you that would like to know more check out this web site www.cff.org

Sorry to hear that your daughter has CF - that makes my choice easier.

Good one Jass

First and foremost send me a sponsorship form. (PM address)

Two years ago I raised £300 for ICRF by doing a "rap run" (head- first abseil) down the side of the Fuji building in Bracknell.

My first daughter was a victim of sudden death in infancy ("cot death syndrome") and mum died from lukemia at the age of 57. So my choices are varied, but voted for cancer on your poll.

Btw my 2nd daughter is training for a triathlon in Sydney.

cheers M8 - will do.

I raised over £250 last year for the NSPCC and I am hoping to double that this year.

Sorry to hear about your losses (both so young).

I voted other also.

My choice would be the Epilepsy Foundation. There is so much research to be done as well as assistance that is needed for people dealing with the occurance of seizures in their lives. They have been a tremendous help to me in locating doctors, information on medications, side effects and so many other things including legal advice when my seizures created issues at work.

Good luck on your triathalon.

I voted for the Heart Research charity. More people die from heart problems than cancer, I believe. It is a major killer and could always use the money.

i picked National Society for the Protection of Children

because i think nothing is worse then people that abuse children and they need all the help they can get to start thier lives

good luck with the run

Thanks Georgie Girl and sorry to hear that you had problems at work.

Noted cheyenne - ta

and thanks to sexy-girl (if the training don't kill me - the triathalon won't)
