Lynn Johnston wrote in a gay character years ago and focused on his comming out to his family. Every so often she revisits him. He's got a partner now and they run a landscaping company.

Right now she's in the middle of a new story arch with a young gay man befriending the daughter.

Is anyone else reading this? What do you think? I'm liking it a lot.

My mom loves FBOFW and alerted me to the gay character initially...I wonder how long it'll take her to let me know about this new arc. :)

Queersetti, that cartoon is awesome! :D

Thanx Queersetti for the link to the comic strip. I love FBOW, but I quit buying the paper years ago so have not read it in a long time. Like since the little sister was born.

Q that was great! I now have a new comic to read. I love comics.

FBOW is a great strip because it isn't always about humor. Johnston isn't afraid to be sad or serious. The first gay character was very upbeat and happy. The new one is sweet, but sad. She's shown acceptance and how simple it should be. Now she's showing the effect of not being accepted.

She rocks.
