Bush tours Ohio on Canadian bus

May 4, 2004 | MAUMEE, Ohio (AP) -- President Bush rode across Ohio on Monday in a bus emblazoned, "Yes, America can." It turns out the bus was made in Canada.

The front of the bus bore another label: Prevost Car, jointly owned by the Swedish Volvo Bus Corp. and Britain's Henly's Group PLC. Prevost's manufacturing facility is in St. Claire, Quebec.

Foreign-made vehicles are a touchy topic in the job-strapped industrial Midwest – states like Michigan and Ohio, which Bush has been touring for two days.

"Seeing the president drive around in this Canadian-made luxury bus is just another reminder of George Bush's failed economic policies and underscores that it's time for a change," said Phil Singer, a spokesman for Democrat John Kerry's campaign.

At least he bought Canadian and helped our economy, somewhat.

LOL - S-L-O-W news day - it was all over the news - my god - didn't hear about Canadian made space arm? Didn't hear about Penicillan, basketball, pablum, the zipper, snowmobile, the Ballard power cell used on the space shuttle by the way, didn't hear any complaints about the creation of William Shatner either, but (heaving sigh) we are kind of french afterall and since y'all made a fuss aboot french fries, and elected the Terminator . . . I can see the intelligence in American politics. I REALLY CAN!
