It's very moving, even to an outsider. May the best of America triumph. May the worst of America be shamed into decency, and then one day, Peace will come.
It's all in the hands of a few hundred highly trained fighting men for now. If we are to have peace in the world though, we need to hold on to the ideas which are greater than flags and countries. The same ideas which the founders of America held on to when they wrote the Declaration and Constitution.
They wrote about "all men". This is about humanity triumphant, not just the top left hand corner of the map.
Maybe its time for a Planet Earth flag.
