That isn't exactly the type of contact sport we play in this arena...

But...mine is the Bengals....I like comedy.

Sounds good to me, Vixen said when I get to Chattanooga I will only be an hour from her.

Fav. team...hmmm....

Either Green Bay, or Vikings, they are both doing pretty good, well ok for green bay, they probibly should be doing better...

Hey Julieangel, did you ever go to the Browns Backers meetings in Atlanta? I used to go to the place downtown and commiserate with all bunches of transplanted Clevelanders back in the 1995 time frame or so. Great fun! Johnny Davis, Edwin Moses, all kinds of Atlanta folks were Browns fans. Depressing as hell at The Beer Mug when they announced they were moving to Baltimore.

As far as the English stuff goes, ya gotta pull for Derby. Can't score, can't mark, can't run. I think my 12 year old youth team would kick their sorry arses. The good thing about Derby is that if you walk into the right bar and say your a fan, you won't have to pay for any drinks all night.

I prefer doing Extracorricular activities with my woman then to watch a bunch of men slap each others asses or feel each other up all the time.. I would rather feel her up then watch 22 men play with each others watchamacallits.. :)

What a bunch of bloody Yanks we are!

Nope not me!!! Born and raised in the south, my honey is the Yank from Cleveland here.

I can think of worse things.

NS you are whipped, boy! Whipped!

As in PW!

God forbid NSW gets hold of Deborah's strap on! :D

Dawgs out? And all they do is stink up the porch(stadium).

Same as these pussies(Ben-Gals as our bobbyfrog would say)down here:D

Well my team was the Dolphins, but with Danny boy gone, guess I need to pull for my home state team. Panthers. god did i say that outloud. Will they ever win more than 5 games, ever?

The other day, Ambrose Bierce quotes flew around here (well, not flew . . . more like wafted). From his The Devil's Dictionary

Yankee,n: In Europe, an American. In the Northern States of our Union, A New Englander. In the Southern States, the word is unknown. (see DAMYANK)

As far as soccer goes, Rupert Murdoch's cable stations show snippets of EPL and ESPN shows UEFA Champions League but having team identification in the States is hard. We do see more highlights of ManU than we'd like (not to be confused with the original Manu).

Vikings all the way!!! :D

I'm so happy we have a Thanksgiving Day game...woo-hoo!!!

Poor nicky- wanting to talk soccer and we all take over and talk NFL.

I am pretty sure your Aston Martins (oops that's a car) ... whoever... could still beat my town's football team. I do find it amusing though that we did manage to sell out the game this Sunday against the Steelers. It is only the 2nd time this year for us. Worst record in the league. Yeah, that goes along with their win-loss record too. (San Diego's misfortunes are a fluke really. So they don't count. My town IS the worst) We might as well sweep all the categories.

All this means is that I will now have to suffer through this torture on television. Does that mean that I am now into the S&M thing? Why do I subject myself to that pain? My tummy is already churning. Tell me what is good for an ulcer? Besides not turning the tv on.

Oh and I suffer from pigskin envy too. I am jealous of all you people who are proud of your teams and can actually root for them! What team can I adopt?

I guess I will have to bide my time and wait for April 2nd (MLB) for any excitement to return.

Hey Nicky

I like Arsenal (don't ask me why) and Man. United. But PSG (Paris-Ste. Germaine) have for my money the coolest uni's:)

But even together they would be no match for my Patriots. Yeah yeah let the abuse begin. But i'm loyal damnit I cant help it.

LOL. I think Bowden sent "any excitement" to the Blue Jays as part of the Steve Parris deal for 2 lbs of back bacon and someone to say "aboot" during the 7th inning stretch of each home game (as in "it's not 'aboot' the money!" lol).

What's that make it, 4 down (Parris, Villone, Taubansee and Stynes) and 8 to go? I hear Bowden's deep into negotiations with Willie Mays Hayes for next season.

Hey, at least Cincy isn't a real major league city - imagine if ya had more than 2 sports to disappoint you on a regular basis!!

(LOL. Sorry. I've only got 37 more days to practice insulting Cincinnati before Xmas (my wife's family is celebrating Xmas on Dec. 30 this year.... they can't get that right in Cincy either, lol...), so I need to be prepared, even if it is such an EASY target, lol)

Lasher

This Parris guy ( he's older so I won't say kid) whats the dope?

Is he significant or just filler for the pitching roster of my beloved Jays?

The Big Red Machine may think different..

Hey Lasha...

I distinctly remember a long home run by one J. Bench that did the bucs many (God does this date me or what?) years ago. Not a major league city...we have the teams...jsut no management...sorta like the government eh? If your counting hockey...well I can do without it...I see enough body checking and fighting everyday (I am married). UMMM you are coming to cincy?? My B-day is the 28th....come over and buy me a beer! Hey...it was worth a shot.

BB....I think we could make good use of this game Sunday...we could get a big quilt and lie in front of the TV and see if we could score more than the Bengals...*EG* I know I could "mount" a long drive on your field..Then maybe put it through the "uprights"

absolutely hate the Villa - we'll trash them Saturday (so now you know my team, Nicky ....)

love those Blue Jays - but hope they don't take up soccer!

One little letter separates CHAMP from CHUMP

Lasher..
We called it didn't we? Can you believe this guy? 9 months ago he was hailed as a genius for bringing Jr back home. Today some of us (me) are ready to string him up by the balls. Parris and Villone I can understand and definitely agree with. Losers, stinkers, no talents.
But Taubensee has come alive the last 2 years. They suckered us in by picking up his option and then a week later, traded him. AARGH. Then there's Stynes. Best utility man in the NL. Can't believe we let him go. All of these for unproven minor leaguers.

Biggest laugh has got to be the next disappointment to come our way soon. Mark my words here that one Mr. Drew Henson will decide (based on the terrific year he had as QB for U of M) to stick with football and will give up any baseball career. Keep in mind this is the top prospect we traded Neagle to the Yankees for right after the All-Start break. What a shrewd plan that was! lol

You're right. 4 down and 8 to go.(literally I 'm afraid) Not surprising. Free agency dooms a small market like us. Which reminds me...how did you guys come up with 60 mill for Kendall- and only a small part is deferred?

BTW didja know one of our Senators called a congressional hearing to discuss the horrid financial state of affairs in MLB? He is sick and tired of NY and Atlanta using their lucrative tv contracts to buy the best players and dominate the post season. But I seriously doubt Selig can or will do anything about it. There is no parity in any major league sport any more.

Your wife's family is from here? And you/she admit to that? Publicly? Brave man.
Heck, we're not so bad. Lots of attractions here. Like...Nordstroms. Err... scratch that. Oh wait- they ditched plans for Pittsburgh too didn't they? We're in the same boat baby!

Thumper, you're right. We do have the Cyclones. But they suck. Or should I say they blow? (get it?) My lovable Lasher is right again, damnit. We have become major league losers the last couple years. Thank goodness we don't have a basketball team- oh hell. I forgot about the Stuff. Nuff said.

I like your idea about the blanket, baby. I was afraid you were gonna suggest we go to the game and make a banner for all our Lit friends to see on tv. Then I remembered that no one in their right minds would watch that game! But if you and Lasher wanna get together for a drink to drown our sorrows and celebrate your b-day and impending guruhood, I'm game! ;)
