I am nearly obsessed with the Food Network these days. Although I don't cook much, I love to watch Paula Deen, Sandra Lee, Barefoot Contessa, and Everyday Italian. I also enjoy an occasional "Good Eats" "Dinners, Drive-ins and Dives" and "Unwrapped" but I really don't like the competition style shows such as The Iron Chef, even though I do watch the occasional "Showdown with Bobby Flay" and I caught an episode of "Dinner Impossible" that was riveting and "Ace of Cakes" is like the food networks answer to "Miami Ink" so I watch that now and then.

I also like foodblogs and other food/cooking sights. (epicurious, 101 cookbooks, simply recipes, jiffy, betty crocker, jello)

I really don't like to cook except occasionally, but I do love food!

I'm almost the exact opposite of you, in that I love Iron Chef and Good Eats and Ace of Cakes. Dinner: Impossible is also great, but it's a shame they fired him for lying on his resume. I'll also catch Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives whenever I see it. The other shows, unfortunately, do not interest me very much.

I will, however, AVOID BOBBY FLAY AT ALL COSTS. I hate him.

Hate him.

How can you hate the Flay-master! He's too cool! I love Iron Chef too. I love the competitions! I'm a Food Network fiend! I like 30 minute meals too - love Rachael Ray! Paula Dean cracks me up with all that butter!

I hate him because he has ridiculous nicknames like "Flay-master". Also, he's a dick.

I totally crush on Alton Brown. He's a cooking God.

I can't stand Paula Deen (although I have to drool over the fattening stuff she makes!)

Emeril bores me. *yawn*

Rachel Ray is almost too cute to watch.

Ace of Cakes ROCKS.

But I have an obsession with cake. And frosting. Mmm, frosting...

I love all the cake/candy competitions... when they have to build huge structures out of sugar and then MOVE them (who thought this up!? oh the drama!)

I actually prefer Giada over Rachael. The woman is GORGEOUS.

Ditto.

Every time I watch that network, i end up in the kitchen with my head in the icebox. No wonder my pants don't fit.

It's out there.

I'm a big fan of Mario/Tony Bourdain myself.

Yeah. They're the best. Two druggy reprobates who don't give a shit. The stories of Mario closing down parties by feeding people Lardo (Italian cured park fat) cut with a hunting knife, smoking reefer and playing air guitar in his orange shoes at 5 AM are legion. That man can cook!.

I also love the food network............ I don't do any cooking myself.. I guess just like writing I don't have the dedication or focus to do it right.... I work around food every day and am a part of making decisions concerning how food is prepared, but I leave the actual cooking to the experts at work......

I enjoy the cooking shows that deal with competitions..... I love it when the hometown people kick Bobby Flay's ass.... *laugh*

Big fan of the Food Network. I love Paula, Rachael, and Giada, hell I love them all except for that Robin Miller chick she just rubs me the wrong way.

Well I actually enjoy cooking...and must say one of my favorite shows on there is Good Eats. I love how he breaks things down and explains them. Makes it ever so much easier to learn to cook the way you want to cook.
Iron Chef is cool just because of the challenge that is presented to these chefs.

I'm madly in love with Rachel Ray.

And Iron Chef is AWESOME!

And I like a lot of their other shows too.

I can't cook for the life of me though.

Oh, and let's kick it up a notch!

BAM!!!

The son is a trained chef and is always trying to get me to watch the Food Channel. I don't even know what channel it is. Thanx, but I'd rather just head for the kitchen, myself and invent something. You like hot? I've got one published.

I love the Food Network ... not necessarily for the specific recipes, but the inspiration and the ideas it provides to try things on my own in the kitchen. Alton Brown is the best, the way he breaks things down and explains just why they need to be done the way he's telling you to do them. Paula Deen is so much fun ... got to meet her once and she's the same way in person as she is on the show -- just a ball of energy. I've had a huge crush on Rachel Ray because she's just so cute, while Giadda is incredibly sexy. The only question is, as petite as she is, now that's she preggers, if the boobie faerie makes a visit, will she still be able to stand upright long enough to cook

I have no idea what Barefoot Contessa is, but it sounds like a great smut story title.
