My company started its annual food drive early this year and, along with the original agencies identified as recipients, we've included the Salvation Army who will ensure that the donations are delivered to NYC in support of rescue efforts.

The list of requested items this year seems, at first glance a bit unusual...

The item that really caught my attention was "Dog Food" until I remembered all the police dogs that have been sent to NYC to help with rescue efforts...

Hey Dill.. would you happen to have a copy of that list? Thanks

A convoy of Semi's left Indiana this morning carring nothing but bottled water. That seemed strange at first till you see all the rescuers drinking it.

:)

Sure...

Bottled water
Bread
Canned Soup
Peanut Butter
Toothpaste
Toothbrushes
Nail brushes
Garbage bags
Dog food
Batteries
Flashlights
Bagged snacks (potato chips, pretzels)
Socks
New men's underwear
Baby wipes
Baby lotion

(Do keep in mind that this is for other organizations as well as NYC)

Some have asked about other things they can do to help so I'm bringing this back to the top.

Find out about your local food drives... the Salvation Army. Find what they need. Even if what you donate doesn't make it to NYC immediately it will eventually get to people all over who need it. Even if all you've got is a spare can of soup in your pantry - donate it.
