There are several ways to 'follow' people.
1. You can click on their name in any of their posts here in any of the Forums, and there is an option to 'Follow'.
2. In the chat room, you can look at their profile and the '+' next to their name in the profile (obviously they have to be in the room to be able to do that)
3. You can search for a person which will display their profile as in 2 above (logged on or not) then as in 2 above to 'Follow'.
4. If you are reading someone's story from that section of Lit, there is an option to 'Follow' there too.
There may be others but that may help.

Keep in mind that following somebody in the story pages may be different than following somebody in the forum pages.

And this forum is for Chat support. Can you follow someone in Chat? (Asking as I don’t know). I know you can follow authors and forum members.

I believe that wherever you decide to 'follow' from, Chat, Stories, Forum, etc, you always just become a follower in the same place, which is on the person's Profile - there is no other place to 'follow' someone.

Following does not do anything for chat really. You can't tell if they are in chat or where.

When you follow someone you will be notified when they publish a story under all activity tab in My Home.

How do I follow myself? I have some great posts and would like to follow myself so that I can read them.

That seems a bit narcissistic, however you don't need to follow yourself, just click on your own name in the thread and there is a 'Postings' tab that will do what you want.
