Followers

I feel the number of followers I have is close to ideal. If some of them don't mind standing they should be able to fit into my living room. So, all of my followers are invited this Saturday around 7. We'll read some stories that are way too good to put on Literotica. RSVP...

I like your sense of humour.

My story will be titled something like "Mom In A Very Crowded Living Room On Saturday At 7." Truth in advertising is my thing.

Anon voters, and I'm sure we all have regular anon voters, will help your vote totals.

My simple point is, say you have 3k followers. How many of your stories get 3k votes? And if you have any that have garnered that total, how many were followers and how many were anon or people who stumbled on that story, liked it, voted, but didn't bookmark you?

Answer is, we'll never know.

What I do know is Silkstockinglover has an insane 39k followers, how many of her stories even get 10% of that total-and when I'm speaking of this, I mean when the story is first out to a few months old, not something ten years old that's been gaining votes for a decade.

I just don't like to see people get hung up on it, like it means something as far as quality of the story, or them as a writer. Like everything else here there's so many factors as to why you'd have a lot, or have very few, followers and none to do with how good the story or author actually is or isn't.

Silkstockinglover is precisely the author who uses her followers to consistently garner significantly above-average views for the category she posts. She doesn't just 'collect' followers however, she encourages them to interact with her on FB and Twitter. I'm not on those platforms so I haven't looked at exactly what she does there, but if it is anything like I've seen with mainstream authors, she tweets out when shes published a new story on Lit along with a link. She's doing what HeyAll said above, treating one's efforts on Lit as a business.

I am always leery of trying to be funny here because the topic discussed are VERY SERIOUS: How can I get more followers and people are 1-bombing my rent boy stories and which category does my story go in if I have a Black lesbian into BDSM with her Mom and their next door neighbors are two gay men who do anal and one is cheating on his gay lover with my wife? We shouldn't joke about those things.

A business where they give away the product. Reminds me of an old joke: "We lose $10 on every unit we sell, but we make it up on volume".

Apologies Windar if you think my postings to be too trivial. I was only asking an opinion.

I was hoping by the end of 2021 to have 1,000 followers. It reached 1,100 and is now nearly 1,300.

My apologies if I offended. But I do find here an overabundance of posts worrying about scores and followers and the likes and a deficit of good-natured kidding around. This is a free site. Having fun should be at the top of the list. So my honest answer is that there is no number of followers that one SHOULD have, nor a particular score or number of views. If it's fun, do it; if it isn't don't.

Somehow I've gotten to 50 stories and 1,600 followers. Never thought I would have written so much and attracted even that many fans... But I still can't manage to write a story without a BBC at the center of it!!

After nearly 20 yeras and 400+ stories, I have got to 1200 followers. But some of them I could do without. They only follow me to award a 1 vote every time a new story of mine is posted.
So, is that really a thing? I noticed something like that and wondered why on earth someone would do that. I dread seeing someone favorite a story or follow me because I know something will precipitously decline.
