I had 18 votes on my Halloween story, and now I only have 15. Is it possible to retract votes? If not, what else would cause this?

Laurel does sweeps of the story votes on a regular basis. Multiple votes from the same person, troll votes, thing like that are removed during the sweeps. Yes, you may see the vote count for your story go down after a vote sweep.

Or up, if someone votes 1 a bunch of times.

or even stay the same in my case, despite 3 votes being lopped of my Halloween story!

Oh, ok. Thanks. That's actually very kind of her; although there were less votes, the scores were higher. I'm really starting to love this place. It's obvious that a lot of hard work and devotion is put into maintaining it.

Well, I have one story that got swept last time the vote count remained the same but the score went down. This last sweep the vote count remained the same and the score went up. Very weird

Amid cries of "Fluxuating Votes!" the Rt Hon MP for Bletchley fled the House
