Thanks for sharing. The influx of people flocking to Florida is having quite an impact on housing prices as the article notes.https://www.newsweek.com/florida-inflation-worst-us-housing-market-population-1812229
Why Florida's Inflation Is Now the Worst in the U.S.
Just to add to the pile.
"Conservative" "leadership" at work.
Last month insurance giant State Farm announced that it would stop issuing new policies covering homes in California. The move follows several other companies including Allstate, American International Group and Chubb, that also quietly began withdrawing from the California home insurance market last year.Jun 14, 2023
Thanks for sharing. The influx of people flocking to Florida is having quite an impact on housing prices as the article notes.
âThe average North Port home value is $361,621, up 1 percent over the past year, according to Zillow. The average Naples home value is $585,469, up 3.7 percent, and in Miami, it is $553,743, up 8.5 percent.â
Out in California, there is good news. With people fleeing for greener pastures and its population in decline, housing prices are actually dropping in most places. The average home in LA has plummeted 4.8% to a bargain basement average price of $916K. In San Diego, prices have dropped 1.1% to a mere $910K average. Up north in San Jose, prices have bumped up 1.2% to an average of $1.4 million and in San Francisco, theyâve dropped 6.7% with the average price now matching San Joseâs ridiculously low $1.4 level.
Bummer about Farmers pulling out of Florida. It could be worse though. State Farm and Allstate have exited California and Farmers has limited new policies.
To be fair, DeSantis has abandoned the state too.100,000 policy holders affected. LOL.
And on mystery private planes, since Iâm the transparent state, they hide where the funding comes from for his travel. To be fair, DeSantis has abandoned the state too.
That's because right wingers would rather deny science and pretend that climate change isn't happening. The sad thing...if communities were built differently, the insurance companies wouldn't be leaving in droves. It is the active choice to cut corners and ignore common sense building techniques.
I linked an example of this last hurricane. Sanibel and the city next to it was fucked. Not even a direct hit. But 5 miles inland...and a direct hit...a community built to withstand the inevitable didn't even lose power and no flooding occurred.
That's because right wingers would rather deny science and pretend that climate change isn't happening.

10:1? 20:1? Does each of those states take on their states biggest employer and get them to ârespectâ the Governor?
So, you do have to pass on many stories that donât âown the libsâ because are there are so many just to find the ones you want.A lot because there are so many. I understand why you donât like seeing them. You can always ignore if you want.
