"U.S. Sees Battles After Afghan War in Lawless Areas
By JAMES DAO and ERIC SCHMITT

After Afghanistan, Deputy Defense Secretary Paul D. Wolfowitz said the Pentagon was turning its attention to Indonesia, the Philippines, Somalia and Yemen."

This is getting quite exciting.

I can see this developing into a popular board game. Should be a great seller for next Christmas...

"They seek him here, they seek him there..."

:D

Hey, fuck you, Jack.

I just want this shit over with, so our boys can come home. Don't be insensitive to all the people with family in the military.

Which part of "a war on terrorism" didn't you understand? ;)

I know too many soldiers who are in Afghanistan for no reason.

Too many even to joke.

You joke, and one of my friends comes home in a body bag.

There shouldn't even be a "war on terrorism".

A war on poverty, maybe. A war on hunger I can live with.

I can't live with another 21 gun salute, at the funeral of a marine who I broke bread with and laughed like brothers with.

I"ll eat my hat if UBL turns up in Indonesia.

Not Osams bin Ladin but there are terrorist cells operating from Indonesia. The alarming thing is that they are increasing their co-operation.

Terror is truly international!

And there are still unanswered questions about the Real IRA men found in Columbia last year.

What were they doing there just a short time before the twin towers?

Why has there been no news of them since their capture?

Wheels within wheels within wheels....

PP, in MHO, I think that had everything to do with trading arms for drugs and probably nothing to do with Sept 11.

Or else they were maybe consulting about methods of concealment. The Columbians are very good at concealing illicit substances, and such methods work whether one is trying to conceal drugs or arms :)

Makes you think though.

Real IRA men captured in Columbia.

Twin Towers attacked.

Blair immediately promises "shoulder to shoulder" support for Bush.

Nothing else heard about the captured Real IRA men.

 <---------(not really but it's the closest 'thingy' I could find)

Did you know the British Army trained many of the I.R.A.? They joined and were trained, some volunteered for specialized training with S.A.S.

They then took that training when their tour of duty was over and used it in service to the I.R.A.

Same thing goes for members of Israel's Mossad and their special units. True also for the U.S. Special forces. It holds for just about every special unit in every army around. Russian Spetsnaz are popular at the moment. They have this specialized training and someone offers them a significant amount of money to train "personal bodyguards" and they think what the hell, what harm can it do?

That information is etched on every Brit's heart...

:)

Know your enemy

That's the biggest problem with this type of war. Who is the enemy? They don't wear uniforms. How do you identify them? Intelligence can only give you a slight edge, it can't guarantee victory.

This war is early days yet. I fear what tomorrow may bring!

I agree with you 100% on that, Mensa. And there is no doubt that some groups, most notably Lasker Jihad, boast links to Afghanistan and UBL.

Despite that, I still think it unlikely UBL will show up in Indon.

My money is on Saudi or the Yemen.

If I was ObL, you know where I'd hide out?

In the U.S.A.! That's the last place they'd expect me to be.

Yup. I thought of that as well a couple of months ago.

Look closely at your cab driver next time you use a cab.

You never, never know...

I hate this shit.

A really good thread pops up and my pills are kicking in so I can't concentrate. Gotta lot of things I want to say but can't right now. Later I won't want to.

Squidward. To condense my long argument to you, fuck you. "There shouldn't be a war on terrorism." My ass. Spend some time reading the posts and get to know people before spewing your crap all over the place. One American killed by hostile fire. Where are the mounds of body bags you were talking about?

Mensa, as usual your giving me a lot of good shit to think about, thanks.

This is a huge, huge problem. Since the conventional war that we are used to involved bombing the crap out of a country and then going in and shooting people if they wear uniforms that you can't recognise (crude, but unfortunately very close to the truth). The propaganda war and fighting people inside a country that you aren't fighting is perhaps a bit of a difficult concept to come to terms with. But all of the agencies involved in this, including the public, will have to understand the nature of this fighting.

It's more like a police raid than a military strike. Or I think that it should be.

Forgive me, for I want things like World Peace, or perhaps a day when man whether he muslim, jew, or gentile can break bread with his brethren, Regardless of religion.

Or wait... maybe that is too much for you to think about?

Perhaps the U.S. should curb it's Economic Colonialism?

Or perhaps if the U.S. re-examined it's Middle Eastern Policies...

Whatever the answer is, War it is NOT.

Violence begets Violence. You reap what you sow.

But fuck it, Kill Them All, let Allah sort them out....

......is that more patriotic?

Another smelly turd deposited on the BB by ppman.

Can someone housebreak him?

I have to say.. Although we state it differently, I'm with Squid on this issue. And Squid, don't let p_p_man rile you up too much, that's what he's aiming for.. the limey bastard.

The simple fact is, we cannot ever hope to rid ourselves of terrorists until we rid ourselves of the horrid living conditions that breed the hatred and the lack of education that provides the necessary ignorance...
