Well, I think I have to say it that I hate flamers. Not fem guys, I hate the ones who think they are better than anybody else, but really, they are just a bitch.

I think they are the reason alot of people think that all gay/bi people are weirdos.

I hate them.

Agree. It's really frustrating lots of people think we're all that way. I hate to say it, but I have some friends that are that way, constantly criticizing everything and everybody around them. I'll never go out to dinner with them again.

you hate people you don't really even know? If the way they hold themselves and present themselves bothers you just stay away from them.....

I do find it a tad annoying and don't understand why the "flamboyant" gays always talk the same, have the lisp and mannerisms........... but I certainly don't hate them.. and I'd certainly take the time to get to know them...

It's sad that people think they HAVE to act a certain way instead of just being who they are... but that doesn't make them bad people.........

You couldn't be 'naturally' flamboyant? You /must/ be putting on an act, if you are that way?

I'm sure some people ARE naturally flamboyant....... and I certainly don't think others are putting on an "act" all the time......

but I certainly know those that "turn it on" when they feel more comfortable....... or want to show it........

I work with two men who do that........ they are vigilant at work and just go crazy with the flamboyance when out of work.........

I certainly like both of them.. they are great guys..

I love you Kbate. Let's go out and have dinner! *emoticons-emoticons*

Ok, hate is a strong word. How about "just want to stay away from them". I'm far from macho, but acting like a, well, bitch kind of make me feel weird. I'm like, "You have a dick, you are a man, act like one". Of course, this is my macho side talking.

Nothing wrong with fems.

Here here!

They are also the reason that there is a gay rights movement.

There are some pretty strong stereotypes in our male gay culture.
One of them is the guy who is loud, always has to be seen, says one thing to your face and another as you walk away...and thinks that everything around him can be done better and he just would not be comfortable if barbed words didn't just fly out of his smart (usually early 20's) mouth.

His friends will cover for him: "oh C'mon...don't take offence...you know that's just how he talks...he's a nice guy really!" And you know what…he probably is but he is making a huge effort to be a complete bitch in order to be cool. Making a scene anywhere is glory to him…even if his friends are shrinking under the table wishing he’d just shut up and eat the damn meal as he bitches and moans loudly to the waiter...or just as loudly hits on the waiter to get a reaction from the near by tables.

The thing is...this stereotype is as common as the Muscle Mary (who is probably a sensitive guy), the Clueless Blonde Twink (who is probably studying for his masters degree lol) the gay-Goth (who really wants friends more than anyone despite the horror look) The Acid Tongued Glamour Bitch is just one of many uniforms we wear.

And I agree…it sucks. People like this are just damned rude.

I was watching this dating show on MTV recently, and they had this one guy who went out on some dates with two guys. Of course, his boyfriend was a bitch, always putting down the dates (saying that they were ugly) and even calling the one guy's mom a slut. If I was that one guy's mother, I would beat the shit out of that bitch.

I saw that title thread and thought it was about flaming drinks that the gay community drank.

(That would have been a better thread)
