Five best movie themes

I'm kind of partial to the theme from Chinatown.

Not to mention the marching theme from the Indiana Jones films.

But all of those are good and I agree, collectively, the Bonds are tops.

I'll go with two of your five, PC (Patton, Jaws) and have perhaps a hundred Honorable Mentions.

To replace the other three I'll add The Magnificent Seven, Raiders of the Lost Ark, and Star Wars.

I don't like movies enough to come up with 5, but you gotta include the theme from Flash Gordon! *Grins*

c'mon...you know you want it stuck in your head!

FLASHHHHHHH!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHAHHHHHHHH! He'll save every one of us!

heheh!

Dangerous Liasons
Tombstone - I'll be your huckleberry

otherwise, I agree.

Hope they can be based around books too, cause my first one was a book in the beginning (and a good one at that!).

Fear and Loathing
Clerks
Magnolia
Leaving Las Vegas
Hackers

M*A*S*H~ I actually have it on MP3.

Uncanny!

I have the first three seasons on DVD!!!

Don't own the movie though:( One day!

Close Encounters of the 3rd Kind

Bond

Jaws

Indy

Star Wars

2001 Space Odyssey

Very tough to decide -

I love most everything by John Williams -
-Jaws
-the Supermans
-Close Encounters
-the Raiders Trilogy
-1941
-Schindler's List
-all the Star Wars movies
-even the Harry Potter movies

Hell, you name it - he's written the music for it (anything Spielberg directed, anyway). I can't pick only five!!!

(of course, going back in TV time, "Johnny Williams" also wrote the theme songs to many shows, including Lost in Space! Very cool!

:p

LOL. Make it stop.

How about

"One Tin Soldier" from 'Billy Jack'

"Morning After" from 'The Posiedon Adventure"

"Dueling Banjos" from 'Deliverance'

"To Sir With Love" from the movie of the same name

and the theme from "Chariots of Fire"

OK, OK. All this talk of Flash Gordon reminded me of Queen, and that reminded me of - Highlander - the first movie - with Christopher Lambert? Excellent music!!!

Hmmm... and to think I have both the Flash Gordon & Highlander soundtracks.

I have the queen soundtrack, "A kind of Magic" and I have the Musical Score compilation for the Highlander movies, pretty cool overall.

Training Day
Black Hawk Down/We Were Soldiers/Saving Private Ryan. (War movies with today's special effects can capture a setting of war that previous directors couldn't due to technology constraints.) SPR's beach scene where Tom Hanks black outs from time to time is magnificent.

Patton

South Park Movie (beyond the excessive idiotic profanity it delivers a message about the MPAA that is right on the money)

Tombstone

Almost anything by John Williams although I must say I am biased since his works are so much fun to play.
