Wow, thats a big'un, look at that beauty....WHACK make good stew

I admit it. I like watching people on TV cooking stuff. Its just cool as hell to me, I can see food getting made and no mess to clean up (as opposed to watching the StudMuffin cook). Especially Yan Can Cook, the man is funny and damn can he do interesting things with those knives and vegetables. I scare the bejeeezus out of Mother StudMuffin whenever I go to her house and pick up a knife, she's afraid I'm going to lose one or all of my fingers.

The StudMuffin, on the other hand, prefers to watch people fish. He didn't tell me about this until we'd been married abou 9 months and it was too late to take him back to the husband department at Walmart. The only thing more boring than going fishing with him is to watch it on TV. He even gets excited when these guys catch stuff. I mean honestly, they get paid to do that, they hang out for days on the lake to get all those shots of them looking like the master fisherguy. Aaargh, lets just go to Bass Pro and debate on whether or not to buy yellow crappie jigs or yellow crappie jigs with white heads on them. At least Bass Pro has food. PLEEEEEEEEEEEASE.

Thank gawd for football. Something we both enjoy.

Of course, our son would rather watch cartoons, so he usually pouts in his bedroom during football season.

*sigh*

And I thought I was alone!

I thought I had the only guy that lived, eats, breathes fishing, fishing shows, and wants to go to Bass Pro store in Missouri for vacation! I just don't see how he can get so excited over each fish those guys on TNN catch I mean you've seen one fish you've seen them all, just various sizes. Oh well go figure!

I like to fish, but can't stand watching it.

Don't much like football.

Emeril Lagasse?

No, the only thing more boring than watching fishing on TV is watching GOLF on TV. I'd sooner stare at a wall and watch the paint dry.

*shudders* the only thing a nine-iron is good for is tenderizing your pork chops.

I admit watching fishing on TV is boring. But have you actually gone fishing with him and been bored? Fishing is fun! Maybe he does need to watch a few more fishing shows so he knows how to do it right?

Yes, I have. Fishing Expedition in the Muffin clan:

Get up predawn.
Load truck.
Bitch because we forgot coffee.
Stop, buy coffee.
Bitch because we forgot to buy cigarettes.
Turn around, go back, buy cigarettes.
Get to parking area.
Unload truck.
Tromp through poison ivy and itchweed.
Rediscover that StudMuffin is not allergic to poison ivy & Muff is.
Finally get to creek.
Sit down, start to fish.
Get up, walk up creek.
Sit down, start to fish.
Get up, walk back down creek, forgot cigarettes.
Sit down, start to fish.
Get up, walk up creek.
Sit down, start to fish.
Get up, walk up creek.
Stand and wait to walk more.
Walk more.
Stand and wait. (repeat last two steps ad nauseum.)
Return to base.
Sit down, start to fish.
Bitch because we are out of coffee and cigarettes.
Get up, hike to truck, drive to find coffee and cigarettes.
Return to creek.
Sit down, start to fish.
Get up, walk down creek.
Stand and wait to walk more. (repeat last to steps ad nauseum.)

He's a wader. I'm a sitter. Watching him fish is worse than watching tv.

Ah, I didn't see the word "boat" anywhere in your post. Using a boat in a lake would cure the walking up and down the creek part of your day. A boat doesn't, however, cancel the "let's pick up the anchors and move to a different spot" muscle workout though. :)

A boat is also inconvenient if one forgets the coffee and cigarettes.

So how are the muskie runnin' up north dere?

Spoken like a true FIB. ;)

p.s. They don't "run" as far as I know. That would be a description for salmon, smelt, etc. which do actually "run" at certain times in the year.

CL: I don't smoke or drink coffee so I wouldn't miss either one in the boat. :)

*sigh*

I don't smoke or drink coffee either and it always seems to be me jogging back to the truck through the mud, the muck, the itchweed, the snakes, the bugs, the poison ivy, sumac, oak and whatever else for forgotten coffee and forgotten cigarettes.

Oh no, no, no. You have an entirely different problem than boring fishing. You have a nasty case of "husband would lose his head if it weren't bolted on tight." The only cure for that one is if he wants it and he forgot it, he hikes to get it.

In our family, someone always forgets the net, or the worms, or their pole. For important things like those, we'll turn the boat around and go back to shore. You'll hear about it and be ribbed for days, but we'll go back to get whatever you forgot. For anything else, you're on your own. Forget it and you do without.

Been there done that. 60 miles from Bass Pro.

Two word to describe hell on earth.

Monett fucking Missouri.

In my humble hiked through the chiggars and snakes to various, oops, we don't have boat, fishing locales opinion. Never fish with an infantry grunt. "You think this is bad, it was much worse when we had that field problem back in..."

You know what KM, you should give Studmuffin' the Big Mouth Billy Bass.
At least that fish can be amuzing.....did I really just say that......hmmmmmm I need a life.

I adored Rolla and all along I-70, but the southwest corner, land of dead chickens and turkeys, I hated every single moment I had to live there. I'm hispanic, and they hate mexicans (don't you know mexicans take all the good job at the chicken processing plants)

Thumbs up for Bass Pro and fishing shows...LOL

Tell him to get the june bug color jig, they work great on crappie...
