I am looking to buy my first vibe. My main concern is finding one that is quiet as I don't want my relatives to hear it. Can anyone help? I want something discrete yet powerful

does it have to be a vib? What about a dildo. There are some really incredible glass (pyrex) numers out there that really work great.

The glass ones are nice..both to use and look at for most have colorful hand blown art designs in it like the marbles of old.... but they can be really expensive like in an upwards of 100 dollars or more for a nice one. The realistic molded cocks are good if your looking for simulation of real deal....viberators are nice but do have them humming motor... not sure they have a silent mode one that viberates but is silent...think about your cellphone...it viberates but u can always hear it... try masking noise with music or a movie or tv...or even hide under sheets and put a pillow between your legs when u do it.....but the rubber/plastic latex ones work just fine if your looking for the "silent" entry mode. Hope this helps.

Thanks for your replies everyone. You've got me thinking about the glass dildos. I have looked on a local website and they have a few different ones for under $60. They look like they may be able to give some serious pleasur

my main reason for wanting a vibrator was for the cliteral stimulation but I am so paranoid bout being found out

Look into buying the "we vibe". I have 5 friends that have one and they all said its the best toy they ever had by far.

I bought one and they were totally right!

I recently got a rabbit for the wife, and she has just about every toy around. She just loves this thing. It has the rotating shaft inside, the spinning beads on the lips, and little rabbit ears for the clit. If you get one, get a higher-end one, as the cheaper ones are noisy. We got the platinum waterproof. It was about $75, but it came with a free pocket rocket (which we carries in her purse for clitoral emergencies!!).

I've been reading about the rabit and it sounds wonderful!!!!! What are some models u recommend?

And also hiding places????

Tv, music, got it! People don't knock around here so def going to b under the covers!!!

The silent spur range is quite good its a rabbit series and can come in waterproof models

Seems as though you've had some experience of having to drowning out a vibe!

But I agree that as something as simple as music or TV background noise is usually pretty adequate for masking the sounds. When I had a room mate and my GF would come over for some fun time, we made sure we had the TV going damn near all night to muffle her little stash of toys she'd bring over.

The first step is deciding what you want. There are so many different things out there, and it can be quite daunting. Most stores will turn a few on for you so you can get an idea of the loudness. Keep in mind that if you get a vibrator to be inserted, as opposed to solely for clittoral stimulation, it will be even quieter inside. I had a friend once that wanted something that she could insert and use discretely during the day at work (she had a boring summer job). We went shopping and the clerk was very helpful and understanding.

So I am still researching

can anyone tell me how well bullets work? Are they purely for cliteral stimulation or do women insert them as well?

Women can insert them if they wish. The wireless waterproof ones are good for discreet usage.

That's about all I use anymore. When I had a double one, I'd insert one, But I mostly just use it for my clit.

I keep mine in a sock in my underwear drawer, so cliche I know :p

Bullets get an A+ in clit stimulation and they're pretty quiet as well. Before I got my Hitachi, they were among my favorites. I experimented with putting them inside, but that never lasted very long.

I prefer the ones that allow for a gradual increase in speed over the bullets with various vibration settings, e.g. pulsation, slow throbbing, rapid buzzing. The latter always seems like the better idea, but it just never pans out for me.

Should you decide on the bullet, you might consider buying more than one as they tend to wear out faster than other vibrating toys.

Do you have any favorite retailers that you trust? Our shop recently closed and it's so hard to judge quality via the web. Some toys looks so cheap and I'd never want my girl to play with something that might hurt her (in the non-fun way.)

Have you tried A Woman's Touch? I've never ordered anything online, but I have been in their stores. Their focus is on women's sexuality and providing a safe environment for women/couples. I'm straight, but I know that they are LGBT friendly. They don't sell toys that are made with dangerous chemicals. They don't sell porn that is potentially humiliating to women (e.g., no facials). Just really good people, I can't say enough about them...and no I don't work for them! :)

EdenFantasys! Most educational and entertaining online sex toy shop that I've ever come across. Most sites just say "Here's the vibrators! Buy one! NOW!" This is not like that. This has customer-generarted reviews plus the regular manufacturer's description. All vibes have a vroom (power), bee (noise) and material safety rating.

I suggest a Jack Rabbit or Aquarius Bumpy.

Bullets by themselves are generally used just for clitoral stimulation but they're also what makes some (insertable/tradional/g-spot) vibrators . . . well, vibrate. Of course there are hundreds of "sleeves" that you can buy which are little pieces of jelly/rubber/silicone/etc that go around a bullet to make it more comfortable/warm/stimulating.

Thanks for the tip. Lots of articles on the site too which I like. I guess I need a little hand holding in this regard, the shop my wife and I bought her toys from had very kind ladies well trained in helping husbands pick a toy that was just perfect for their wives so I'm kind of spoiled.
