First Time Erotica

The books of William Burroughs... Thank you, Uncle Bill, you taught me more about writing than any other author. Also, that there was such a thing as a strap-on. YOu probably saved my life!
Amen to that!!! I am a huge Burroughs fan myself. :D

I was about 8 or 9 when I discovered magazine porn... Then when I was 10, we had a babysitter who had all kinds of "romance" novels (which we all know are simply thiny veiled versions of saccharine erotica), and I'd skip around those books looking for the sex scenes... Fun :)

Someone said earlier that they tried writing erotica as a young teenager, and I chuckled cause that happened to me too... Long before I'd ever actually had sex... Unfortunately my "writings" were discovered by my parents, and WOW was I in trouble after that!

At the tender age of 10 or so I learned that sex does not happen between your legs, but in your mind.
You mearly use your genitals to express it.

Good lesson learned.

Given our own experiences, I wonder how we might handle finding porn or 'writings' by our own children. Personally, I think that I'd pretend I never found it and let my child keep that part of his life discovery personal. If I thought it needed adressing, I'd probably wait for (or create) some oportunity to bring up the issue without adressing the 'found material'

I was about 11 when a girl from up my road came calling for me. She'd found a stash of porn magazines discarded in the woods, just across the road. I ripped a very good pair of trousers climbing over the fence, so that just goes to prove how determined I was to see them.

It turned out that the rain had washed most of them away, but I was just about able to make out the odd paragraph of an erotic story in one of them. It was the rudest thing I'd ever read. I didn't dream for a single second that one day I'd be producing that kind of material. I'm still shocked with myself.

I was perhaps 8 or 9 and discovered a paperback sized erotic novel in my parents bedroom (while I was practicing my innocence of course). I read it and still remember one passage:

Mark threw the towel over his shoulder and stepped naked into the hallway. He had not taken two steps when his mother walked out of her room, her eyes going directly to his hard penis poking toward her. She let out a stifled moan and retreated to her room with Mark following, a smile on his face.

Perverted eh?

Damn but this thread brings back memories.

I'm not sure but I think I was about eleven or twelve when I ran across my first true porn. Not surprising it was a Penthouse Mag. complete with the letters section. The letters were interesting to say the least, as were the pictures. (Now you have to remember that I had grown up around nudity but these naked pictures were there purely for the enjoyment of people looking at them, something new to me.) I'll be damned if I can remember what year it was not to mention which issue but I do remember that it had a photo series featuring a Eurasian Lady who was more than a little cute. The most memorable shot was of her standing outside between two poles. (Telephone Poles perhaps?) Damn but this is bringing to my mind a picture of someone I talk to upon occasion. :p

My mother read the really racy historical romance and never forbid me to read them. Of course, she also read my Jaws as a bedtime story, leaving in all the violence but removing the vulgarities. This was from about 10 and up. When I was in my late teens she wouldn't let me read Linda Lovelace's autobiography. Yeah, because the 100s of romances where you hero essentially raped the heroine, but she loved it so it was okay, was not formative. :)

I used to steal looks at Playboy at the local drugstore while my family was grocery shopping next door -- was 11 or 12. I maintain Playboy made me bi -- either that or Daisy Duke.

There was also this guy who lived down the street with us, with his mother, and had an unreal boardgame and porn collection. The porn was stacked in the bathroom and my friend, Jill, and I used to make excuses to go look at it.

Then we got cable. It was all over then! :p :nana:
