Hello. I have my first story published. Is there a way to have tasteful photos with it?

Thnx!
Lisa

Stories with illustrations go into the Illustrated category. I don't know of any exceptions. The site has rules for submitting illustrations that you can find in the FAQ. You can also ask your question in The Visual Artist's Corner forum.

Good luck on your first story. I hope you enjoy the experience.

Unless you own the photos, no. As NotWise says, all illustrated stories go into a single category which limits a story's exposure somewhat. You can post your own art as a separate submission and make a note in your story or in a comment that you've done so. Lit isn't really a visual site.

Thank you for the reply! Yes they would be of me. Just have many random pictures that I have.

You might have to go through some hoops to prove to Laurel's satisfaction that you own the photos.

It' ok. It's not that important. Was just curious.

Appreciate the help though! I would like to know how do I get my avatar picture here too?

You can have one when you have 100 posts. When that happens, click on "User CP" above, left on this page and then on avatar in the column on the left.

Thank you again everyone! Someone mentioned I could link my photos hosted elsewhere. Maybe that would work?

You can't put links to external sites in stories, but you could put them up in a Forum. But I'm not sure that's wise on a smut site.

Thank you everyone for the comments! I feel it's best to not post any and just show them privately.

Have a great day!

Hello Lisa,
I have enjoyed your story *claps*
As far as posting pictures you may want to consider a thread of your own in the suitable forum on Lit

Lisa, did you check the forum thread titled "Amateur Pic Feedback"? It's near the bottom of the Forum main page. The photos posted there are put up by the pictured individuals. Some are quite naughty. Many are quite nice. And, they all have spice. That may offer you a good solution AND you can mention your published stories or mention the Am. Pic Thread in a published story, so it becomes self-reinforcing.

I did post a couple photos. One I was at a nudist resort and the other from a a "painted" on tattoo shoot. Both are more discrete. Like I said best to show anything more privately.

Advice I was given was that not too many would vie my stories there and it's more a writing site than a photo site.

Strange advice. My first story here, after six months, has ~8k views and 16 ratings. An illustrated story I co-authored and published by a new author too, now, after three weeks, has ~60k views and 70 ratings...The more interesting question would people pay attention to your written text or come for ogling. Anything illustrated does receive much more views in general.

The Fineprint

As there are only a few submitted, and it is some work to translate the, usually, .doc-files that hold text and pictures, those stories and poems are usually edited for publication in a 6 to 8 weeks interval. So, patience is a good friend if you intend to submit an illustrated story. Next publication round could be early to mid July.

Can a story I have already get posted with a photo?

If the pic does not violate Lit's pic posting rules. Then you go and edit your published tale and resubmit it.
It will get moved across to Illustrated - but won't go up on the category front page, because it's an old story. Must be a fabulous photo to even bother ;).
