So far, the U.S. imperialist aggression against Iraq is not going too well. There has already been a significant number of U.S. casualties, and the number can only increase. Troops are still bogged down in house to house fighting in Umm Qasar, giving a small foretaste of what awaits them in Basra and Baghdad. Massive protests against the U.S. rage throughout the world, and even inside the very belly of the beast, within the Evil Empire itself. The massive terror bombing of Baghdad, televised worldwide, exposed the Bush crew before everyone as the ruthless gang of butchers and mass murderers that they are. Not since the fire bombing of Dresden in 1945 has there been a comparable scene of devastation of a major city on this scale by "conventional" weapons. Barbarities and outrageous crimes against humanity on an enormous scale have already been committed.
The initial attempt to win the war quickly by assassinating Hussein and his top leadership-- a "hit," Mafia style-- failed miserably. U.S. air bases remain vulnerable to Iraqi surface-to-surface missiles. One hit could produce hundreds, if not thousands, of casualties. As if that weren't bad enough, now the first instance of an attempted "fragging" has been reported, in the first few days of the war! In Vietnam, it took years for the situation to develop to this point. This is a clear sign that discipline is already breaking down within the U.S. military. The troops are beginning to realize they have been sent on an unjust, illegal, predatory war of aggression and mass murder of the Iraqi people, a war which benefit the big oil companies and a handful of other rich people, but which will cause untold suffering and misery for millions of others.
American GI's-- the Iraqi people are not your enemy. The real enemy is your officers, and standing behind them the politicians and big business interests that sent you to war. Join together with your Iraqi brothers and sisters in overthrowing BOTH Bush and Hussein! Both tyrants and despots must be removed from power forever.
Soldiers-- turn the guns around! Shoot your officers down!
