hey everyone
as most of youknow, I live is SC. Okay, we just had a new program started by an established poet named Kwame Dawes. The poetry initiative is to emphasize the importance of poetry in our lives and encourage people to write.
The first book project stemmed from the Sc PI, and will be held at USC. Anyone on here who is in SC and wants to attend, it is for people who have a manuscript that is ready to be published but needs some tweaking. IT is emphasized that thi s is not for individual poems, nor will a book be published specifically as aresult of attending this workshop, but it is free in a time when schoolin' is getting might hard to afford
I know my poems are not ready for this, but anyone else who is interested, let me know and i can send you the pertinant info and contact numbers.
It will be held 2 times a month for 6 months and there is no fee, but you will be expected to attened each session, where the particippamts with swap out copies of their work and share ideas and suggestions with one another.
It is being overseen by an associate proff named Ed Madden and will be hel in the English Dept lounge at USC
so, if anyone is local and interested, lemme know!
