The relationship between police and citizens needs to improve. Citizens must respect the legitimate authority of the police, and police must be responsible in the exercise of that authority. It is impressive how police will swear an oath to the Constitution, and then immediately treat it with utter disdain. I think any violation of this sworn oath should result in immediate termination and personal criminal and civil liability for violating a citizen's rights. I contend the rank and file cop knows next to nothing about the content or primacy of The Constitution. When a citizen properly invokes their legitimate Constitutional Rights, it is met with the inevitable eye-roll. I'm going to take the position that officers are poorly trained. I don't want to say they are as ignorant as they appear in the videos I watch. They seem like experts in making a mountain out of a mole hill. They need much better training in de-escalation techniques. Long Island Audit videos are very good. He is calm, respectful, yet assertive of his Constitutional Rights. He reveals some egregious oath violations. I know that some of these auditors can be assholes, but this gentleman is not.
