Yes, this is a private thread. Sorry. The reason being is because Ravenloft and myself would prefere any characters to have a desire and knowledge in the novel Firefly before role playing with us. We also ask that anyone who does RP in this thread, please keep contact between e-mail and messages so that we can keep the "OOCs" down. Thank you! Enjoy your reading!

(Enone:
My love set out on his quest through the wilderness, running, running indefatigably. He ran along the hard pavement of the road, and it pounded against his feet, but he did not yeild. He ran through the blackberry bushes, and the fierce thorns caught at his legs, but he did not pause. He ran though the horrendous patch of sandspur grass, and the cruel little barbed balls stuck in his socks. Now he paused to take them out, but then a great swarm of black biting flies descended on him. He swatted them away and went on, and the sugary sand gave way beneath his feet, sapping his speed and balance, but he kept on. He ran past rabbits and tortoises, past toads and rattlesnakes, and even a beautiful little coral snake. Above him a great pileated woodpecker pecked in its tree, marveling at his persistence in the oppressive heat. He came to the verge of the lake, where alligators lurked. He would not be stopped!

But at last he came to me, down by the edge of the pond. Oh my love, my darling, you have reached me at last! Now our love can be complete, and we shall forage together, because for the first time our kind will have human intelligence and knowledge. We will know how to handle human prey...
Firefly, Piers Anthony.

"Geode!", she cried out. "Geode, I'm down here!" Remembering she had been deposited deep within many layers of muck and water, she grew frustrated. How much longer would she have to wait? How long had she already been here? To her, her essence felt done, complete. So why was she still in here?

Geode:

Geode stopped for a moment, he thought he had heard something. He knew that (Enone wasn't the only firefly burried along this bank and he did not want to risk stumbling upon any of the others. Crouching down, Geode sniffed the air. Nothing... Yet. There was the sound of rustling leaves off to his right. Looking up he saw a rabbit. "Hi there." Geode said. "Hi..." It replied to him. "Were you the one I heard?" Geode asked. "Nope. Its (Enone... She was waiting for you." The rabbit said. "I don't want to be here when she wakes up." it added and bounded off. Geode watched as the rabbit disapeared into the woods. He wiped his brow with his forearm and sighed. Then he sat on the bank and waited.

(Enone:

"Yes! Geode, it's me, (Enone!" she cried from deep within the muck. Then her heart sank. She knew he could not hear her. Not yet anyway. For, right now, her words were only formed in her mind and not spoken.

In fact, they may never be spoken again. (Enone never thought about that before. Her being had been part of the Firefly for only a brief while thus far and there was still so much she didn't know. She had so much more to learn.

The more she thought of Geode, the sadder she became. She sighed so deeply that her entire egg seemed to move deep within the soft earth. Oh Geode... she thought to herself.

A young maiden made her way through the forest. It was obvious that she was not used to such terrain. Fallen branches and undergrowth tugged and tore at her gown as her speed picked up.

She kept looking over her shoulder now as she ran. She seemed to have been moving away from something in fear. In her haste, she paid no attention to the patch of rose bushes in her path. She kept on, running right through them. Though tears stung her eyes, she did not cry out as the thorns of those beautiful, fragrant flowers cut at her bare legs and feet.

The young maiden kept on running until she litterly ran into a young man. "Woah, slow down there," he said to her. "What's the rush?"

Out of breath, she just stood there and panted, leaning up against the man. Then he heard a noise off in the distance. There were barking dogs, horse hooves on the forest floor, and the voices of shouting men. "Over this way!", "I saw her pass over here!" they declaired.

Soon a Calvary of men were before the maiden and young man. "What is this about?" the young man asked.

"That wench stole from the kingdom," one of the horsemen stated.

"She is nothing but a common thief," another agreed. "She must be dealt with properly! Hand her over to us."

The young man looked at the horsemen for a minute, then over at the maiden, and then back up at the horsemen. "I shall do no such thing," he said.

He could see that the head horseman was growing quite agitated by now. "You do not seem to understand, boy," he said. "These are orders of the kingdom. Now hand her over!"

(Enone seemed to have paused from her thoughts for the moment. She was still struggling with her new form, her Firefly esence. The act of story telling had become harder for her now. It was very frustrating. She couldn't wait until she hatched.

Geode:

"(Enone? Is that you? I heard you! Please! Where are you?" Geode called out. He had sat straight up when he heard the beginings of the story and had let it continue until the teller fell silent. He knew it was her, he had learned long ago that he couldn't craft a story like she could. She was so close that she could tell him a story but he still couldn't see her. He shifted to the side and his fingers sunk into the soft, wet dirt of the bank. He looked down at it and found that the ground was shifting ever so slightly on its own. Something was trying to force its way out from under his hand.

Bull:

He watched on from a secluded place, his brown coloration blended well with the bark of the trees. Curiously he watched the man along the water's edge. That place was where he, along with the others, came from. His senses told him that there was one more waiting to hatch. One more and then his little family was complete.

He noticed the man jump back. There was a slight movement coming from the earth. Finally! It was finally happening. The family was almost complete. Soon they could forage in pack.

(Enone:

"Yes!" (Enone exclaimed. The time had finally come. Soon she could be with Geode once again. She could hardly wait. "Geode, I'm coming to you! I'm coming!"

(Enone pushed against the outer layer of her home. Slowly it began to give way to her. With much effort, she was making her way out of the egg, traveling though the soft, sandy muck.

"Geode, I'm almost there! Wait for me, my love!" (Enone shouted in her mind as she raced for the surface. Then she saw it. Well, she didn't really see it, but she sensed it. She had reached the earth's surface. She had made it! She couldn't remember the first time she had been born, but she was certain it had been much easier than this!

Bull:

He watched on as she made her grand entrance to this new world. Just like a woman to be last, and late, having to make a big scene. The man had a look of caution in his face and an erection in his pants.

"Damn fool!" he thought, excitedly, as he watched the mortal man with the youngest of his family.

Geode:

"(Enone!" Geode called out as he watched her make her way out of the ground. He crouched down, his erection was starting to hurt but all that mattered to him was that he and (Enone were back together. "Please (Enone, talk to me?" He asked. "I have been waiting so long to hear you again..." He sat back down next to the disturbed ground, watching as she made her way out from under it.

(Enone:

Slowly (Enone's form made its way from the ground. She was beginning to grow more mass now. Her edge brushed Geode against his knee and he felt a euphoric high radiate throughout his body. Though she was just a fawnling, and the contact was brief, he could see that she already posessed great power.

"Oh Geode!" she began, "How I have missed you!" Her excitement was quickly replaced with sorrow though. She longed to hug Geode, to touch him, but she could not. Since she possessed no arms (or any limbs for that matter) she could not properly touch him.

Quickly Geode felt his Love's sadness. He frowned. "What is wrong (Enone?" he asked her.

"Geode, I am sad," (Enone responded. "So much has changed since I was living as my old form. You have no idea how I longed for your touch and to touch you. But, I can't even hold you properly! This is very frustrating."

Geode turned to face (Enone better. He extended his hand out and touched her. He instantly felt a tickly sensation in the palm of his hand. The feeling was wonderful. "(Enone," he started, "I love you. To be with you, in any form, is all that I ask for!"

Bull:

He looked on as the man and (Enone sat there. The man seemed to be deep in thought. Was it possible that he was communicating with (Enone in his mind? No. That was impossible! Only a Firefly could communicate with a Firefly!

Bull was growing antsy now. It had been far too long since he fed last and he was hungry. This was also the first time in a while he found the man alone. He was an easy target, provided that (Enone wasn't hungry herself.

Geode:

The wonderful feeling that reverberated through his knee then his hand was making it hard for Geode to think of anything other than sex. He was losing control over his will to move. Would she take him to satiate her new born hunger? If she did, he would not fight her...
