She had wandered long and far, walking for miles lost in her own thoughts and emotions. So much had happened to cause her to run away, even more had happened to cause her to want to return. She missed her friends terribly; wondered if they would even remember her. It hadn't been that long, but still, in this land of magic and make believe, where people come and go so quickly, alliances are made and broken in seconds, she still worried.
Her slow steps brought her to the edge of the tree line. A vast expanse of beach lay glittering in the heat before her. The sheer, simple sarong she wore tucked around her breasts clung to every curve in the humidity as the breeze pushed it closer to her body, ruffling the hem where it fell just below her ass. A wisp of material that may or may not pass for a thong visible through the slim excuse for a dress.
She glanced back through the trees, the cabin just barely visible from this distance through the thick vegetation. The rustic lines blended well with it's surroundings, making it nearly invisible except for the expanse of glass that covered one wall, catching a glint of the light creeping through the foliage. She smiled to herself, then turned back to survey her position.
The beach was on the eastern side of the island, stretching a good quarter mile into the distance before being swallowed up by the tress and underbrush again. The island was centered in the middle of a mountainous lake, much higher than most people generally cared to settle in this part of the world, simply for the lack of amenities. There were only two ways to get to the island, one of which was by boat. However, it was time consuming and difficult at the best of times...impossible at any other. The second, most expedient, method of getting there was by magic. Not just anyone could show up though, she had to wish for it.
"It's time," she thought to herself. "Time for me to start returning to my friends. Start socializing again." A shiver passed through her body in spite of the heat surrounding her. She was determined that things go a bit differently this time. She wouldn't be jumping into things quite so much. And when it got too hectic again, she could always come home.
She turned her back to the beach, the late evening sun shining through the fabric surrounding her, highlighting even more the figure hidden beneath. Her light steps barely disturbed the mat of grass and leaves that littered the little used path as she made her way back to the cabin. It was time to call it a night. Tomorrow she would return to civilization, such as it was.
