The vote was 95-1. Josh Hawley voted against it because apparently we have to focus on China and adding two more allies isn't doing that for him.

Yeah, if there was two countries NATO could grab as security providers to their immediate neighbors at least if not globally, there's few other options and none within the envelope of the alliance as defined.

Saying Sweden, even less Finland be burden as allies is only possible in extreme ignorance, but much rather bad faith.

It means she will likely be a lame duck PM for quite a while yet. It's also worth a note that unlike her Social Democrats the party that won the election had NATO membership as their policy position for over twenty years already.

The yellow on the far right are... not quite MAGA, but a bit of open fascists alright, and unlikely would be in the ruling coalition.
