The Idea Is Awesome...Your Model Has Gorgeous Arms And Hands:D He Also Seems To Be Quite Limber..May I Borrow Him!? LOL

I'd Like To See More Of What You Have Done With Him, Though I Must Say I'm Not Very Interested In The Background That You Chose...Maybe The Grass Would Be More Attuned To The Pose. I'd Also Love To See More Work On His Arms, Hands And Shoulders...Nice Veins:D LOL

More?

Thanks for the reply RNAB, I'll post more pics of "the model".
lol, it's my hubby Starkie! He'll be pleased to read your post :)
If you're ever 'round the East Midlands, please let me know and you can "shoot" Stark as well.

My backgrounds tend to be in natural settings, I haven't moved onto the dark or black backgrounds yet, but that may change with the season.
This is a work in progress and with time, more photos with differing style is possible.

Wow...These are wonderful!

The poses are very good...I like the treatment of your husband's shoulders, neck and head. Fine art, indeed. Yes, I agree with RNAB - as your photos grow toward simpler black backdrops, the observer will focus more on the sculpture of your model. They will also look more polished.

Thank you Kcar for your reply. As they say... watch this space for darker backgrounds. It's getting cooler outside and soon I'll have to choose a more suitable back drop for my photos. :D

Hahahaha!! He'd look great in the snow! Pure white background in moonlight gooood. :D

Indeed, a very well done pose. I agree with the others on the backgrounds. I'll look forward to more of these. :)

Thank you for all of the replies, you've made my day! :rose:

Yes, I do have some more, but first I must do a bit of "work" on them before posting. I'll try and get something sorted this week!

Thanks for your imput Kcar, that is my fave too.
The image has a strong masculinity about it, although I like the other one for its suggestion of "action".
Anyway... thanks again for your reply and Merry Christmas!

Good work Kym, even thought the subject is the wrong gender for me, I like the pics.

Pardon me for a little sarcastic ranting, but your pics were not appreciated in the Am. Feed. because they were not poorly composed, improperly lit, or out of focus. For the life of me, I don't understand why so many people post so many bad pictures. Doesn't the delete key on their camera work? That's the beauty of digital, you can delete it and try again.

Thank you for the kind words slow1000, they are appreciated.

I figured the lack of response to this thread is because I am no longer active on lit and therefore not of the "in" crowd. <sigh> Cest' la vie in the world of adult message boards.
I don't critique others work because as quoted so many times, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, or, art for that matter.

For me and my husband, fine art nude is provocative and thoughtful. Not the in your face sort of work so many seem to like. A softly lit nude, shadowed and in a setting which makes the mind say, wait! Hold on, what is going on? Is more erotic than someone's genitals exposed for all to see. It's all about perception I s'pose.
[/rant]
Thanks again slow1000 for your post and I'll work on some photos which are your type!
My wishes for a happy festive season. :rose:

Merry Christmas to you too, SK!

This was ignored where? Oh! The Amateur Picture thread? Sheesh...I know what ya mean about the artless quality of a lot of the work in there. I've only been in the place once or twice since I joined Lit.

Your images are a great start to something better, color is so hard to work with when capturing images. But black and white has such a huge range of light to work with; ask any master of photography and they will tell you the same.

Master how light photons reflect light using just the tonal range of black and white. Learn how to read histograms and use those to preview your work instead of the image on the tiny screen on the camera.

ummm... thanks, I guess eye.
To clarify, I am well aware of the histogram and other features of our D50. The above photos were posted as per request and are only a small representation of my work.
Hubby is the master you speak of (over 30 years of photographing nudes) and he is my tutor.
While I am relatively new to photographing nudes, hubby likes my photos and encourages me.
I respect your opinion, but it's just that.
Our last client was blown away by the pics I shot of him and is looking forward to another session and that's what matters. After all, it's what pays the bills!
££££ cha ching! ££££ :D
