Finding Someone

Anyone have any experience in searching for someone from their past before? Beyond the phone number searches and the quickie response type places whats a good place to start? Been about 10 years since I've seen this person and I have their first and last names (including maiden name), children's names, etc. but can't seem to get beyond the 'pay $29 and we'll get back to you within the hour' type places which strike me as being a bit of a scam.

Any help would be appreciated at this point!

Did you go to high school w/ this person? Or know their high school? I found some old friends thru www.classmates.com. To join is free, but they also have an upgrade you can pay for. I found some college friends there also because I knew what high school they went too. I believe they also have a military section.

Classmates is a good site, but the person I'm looking for isn't listed there.

I'm tempted to go with a search service of some sort, but I remember reading somewhere that there was a difference in the type of searches that are offered. Some will give you whatever hits they find, but won't guarentee them to be accurate and others will keep at with a guarentee to find the person you're looking for...

Call information and ask for a number to the person you are looking for, If you remember where they last lived. Yea, its been 10 years, but they still might live around that area........

or ask the operator for the last name...some of their family might still live in the hometown.
