This is a story idea I put up a while ago and would like to try again:
"Slaves, Ferals, and Bunkers", a post-alien annihilation RP:
"Slaves, Ferals, and Bunkers", a post-alien annihilation RP:
- The setup:
- An alien race attacked earth with both an EMP device and a virus.
- 95% of the world's human population was dead within a month.
- The aliens hunted down the surviving human population, killing or enslaving them.
- The vast majority of Earth's surviving human population has never known anything more than slaving away for their Overlords.
- 15 years have passed.
- Our characters come from 3 "camps":
- "Slaves": those working the Overlord Cigar Lake uranium mine in northern Saskatchewan, Canada. They are strictly manual laborers with little understanding of the mining extraction and refining process. The Overlords themselves perform all the technical work. Some of the workers want to destroy the mine and deprive the Overlords of the uranium that is used for whatever purposes. Others want to simply flee the mine.
- "Ferals": these are survivors who have never been captured, most of them in the first months but others more recently. I'm thinking that perhaps some of them make contact with the slaves? Other ideas are welcome. Perhaps they perform raids on Overlord locations?
- "Bunkers": these humans have survived the past 15 years in a bunker in Saskatchewan that, ironically, was constructed in a former uranium mine. They must now return to the surface though, risking capture, enslavement, or death.
- I'm going to post nearly every day. (I have been and still am on another site that, unfortunately, didn't allow sexual content of any sort, not even "fade to black" stuff, but while there I posted every day, typically multiple times a day.) I'd like cowriters who are similarly dedicated to daily posts if not more.
- I don't care about post length. Let's just keep the story moving ahead, even if that means only posting a couple of sentences.
- I prefer writers who care about good writing (grammar, spelling, even punctuation). Reading your cowriter's posts shouldn't be a chore, should it?
- Our characters are all humans. I write all of the Overlords.
- Our characters can be good guys, bad guys, whatever. Just keep in mind that I'm not looking for someone to "rule" the story. That's my job.
