The World Cup is starting in less than 19 days, and I know there are plenty of fans out there!

FIFA has a FF game set up, and since we had fun with this sort of thing in 2004, I thought it wouldn't be a bad idea to repeat it.

You can sign up at http://en.fifaworldcup.fantasysports.yahoo.com/ - if you have a yahoo ID the process is faster, just remember to login at the top-right corner.

After you select your players (or before, doesn't matter), click "Groups" and "Join Group". You'll be asked for a Group ID# and password. I created a Literotica League with ID# 3708 and password literotica.

This one works a bit differently from the one we played before, but I think I got the rules nailed now. If you're interested and have any trouble, let me know.

It is a pain to navigate. I split it down into GoalKeepers first then Defenders, Midfilders and Strikers (the little letters next to all) just to make it a little simpler.

Now I feel foolish. I named my team "GreekStallions," and then I looked at the players' list and there were no Greeks on the roster!

With the strikers I got a far as "R" for Rooney I've only picked 11 so far, I guess I should pick 23 like it says really -especially as Rooney is doubtful 'cos of an injury.

I found it was easier (i.e. faster) to go through the teams' squad lists in a separate window and after deciding on a player, use the search feature to add him to the roster.

Thanks for the tip! I had read he was going to, did anything happen? I picked my squad before fully understanding the rules (I think I do now ) so I will be making a few changes before it all starts.

Er... bad news. Apparently, we're not allowed to make changes for free, even if the competition hasn't begun yet! It sucks.

So, for those of you who have already picked players and decide to change some before the 9th of June, it's better to just re-register a new team and withdraw the old from the league. That way you get to keep those few precious tranfers for when they're needed.

My understanding of the rules is you can change Captain for each Match Day, do you think that means you can swap captains during first round matches or does Match Day encompass all of the first round matches?

My understanding is that we can change all players for each match, even, several times a day, constantly trying to pick up points.

Seems too easy, bound to be a problem - off to re-select my team.

Well, there's no point in changing the teams during the matches, so we can work then. Or not.
