Spain v South Korea.

South korea win 5 - 4 on penaltys.

Two more perfectly good goals disallowed and further dubious line calls - just what do you have to do to have a goal stand against South Korea? Their players spent the whole match backing into their opponents and falling down under minimal contact. Well played Spain, you won the match, but not the officials.

This was not a shock win - it was a joke. A very bad joke. My heart goes out to Spain, just as it did to Italy. And Spain will continue to be the World Cup's "great underachievers" if they continue to be landed with such monumentally underachieving linesmen.

Fifa needs to take a long hard look at its priorities, because at the moment, they seem to be decidedly favouring establishing the game in Asia, even if it means changing the rules in the process.

South Korea put up a magnificent fight and so did Spain. What a shame that poor work from the officials and the ever ready-to-boo crowd make it impossible for many of us to be happy that the results are fair. I wouldn't want to be Germany for anything!

are you suggesting there could have been some money
handed over to corrupt the refs and linesmen , because
of some of the dodgy decisions in favour of the koreans
or is it merely a case of being overwhelmed by the partisan
korean crowd?

So far,

The referees in this World Cup have been terrific. The Egyptian who refereed today's match was magnificent.

The assistant referees have been dreadful! You have to wonder where they got their qualifications.

Italy were blatantly cheated out of two games and this morning was a joke!

No I'm not saying money may have passed underhand to officials but who nows gambling is bigger then soccer in Korea.

I have a serious worry that there as been some corrupt backroom dealings between Fifa and the co-host to help establish soccer in Asia.

And what can establish it better then the host-nation winning the worldcup.

Because Brazil won't let them!

The Germans will steamroller the Koreans and then fall to the Samba in the final.

I doubt it very much the Germans will fall the same way as what Italy and spain have. Cheated out of a win by dubious calls from officials.

the lacklustre way the germans have played this
tournament ,the koreans could win fairly with eleven
players and not thirteen as in two previous matches

i definitely don't put it past sport's ruling bodies to tilt the officiating one way or the other for a favorable financial outcome.

The problem is, the linemen have been godawful throughout this tournament. so I have a hart time believing that they are competent enough to "fix" anything.
