Has anyone been to the Tampa Fetishcon? Good experience or bad?
Anyone planning on going this year?

Not much help

I have never been but I left a message with a friend who has.

I visited their web site Tampa Fetishcon and I know where it is being held; that’s a great location.

Unfortunately they do have a lot of holes in their demonstration schedule. Out of the 12 classes scheduled all but one is listed as to be announced. Perhaps they will firm up their program as the date approaches.

Wow, the opening page looks like a porn site or something.

Or something. One of those commercial things. A place to promote toys, DVD's etc. Interesting shopping. Otherwise?? ;)

I was there in 2004. Arrived Friday, left on Sunday. Note that this was the year that hurricane something-or-other blew through, so the Saturday night party was powered by generators & flashlights.

It was worth the money. Yes, it's commercialized, but the vendors were all on-topic. I saw lots of interesting equipment and supplies, and lots of interesting demos. I didn't buy much there, but I have bought some since, via internet. I've made my own DIY copies of other stuff I saw.

If you're interested in meeting well-known models in the flesh (I'm not), this is the place to do it. Though I did meet the Luvbight's, which was, for me, the high point of the Con.

The workshops weren't all that informative, but they were a lot of fun if you're a voyeur. Same goes for the merchandise demos.

The real value of the Con was the opportunities for people-watching. Most of the crowd was dressed vanilla, but there were enough people in costume that it was well worth while to find a quiet corner and just watch the crowd.

The biggest drawback was that all three days I was there were basically the same. If I ever do it again, I'll attend on Saturday only. The wrap-up party on Saturday night is not to be missed.

Now that is good info!

Bravo!

It's fun

I was there in 2004 and the people watching was awesome. Additionally, if you stayed in the hotel, you could sit on your balcony and watch people scene on their balconies. It was well worth the money and I'd probably go again. However, the power outage was a pain. They shouldn't have it during hurricane season. If you've never been in a big group of kinksters, it's a safe way to have that experience.

Sounds good for those that like to watch.

The photos on their Yahoo group certainly support your recollections. As I said before, this is a great location.
