Fetish bars - what to expect?

Hey...

Living In a college town, one seens various postings for bar happenings. One of regular occurance is for a fetish night at these two bars. One explicitly mentions 'cages' and the likes, while the other simply states: 'Fetish Night'.

My question: What can one expect from these bars during these theme nights? Are we talking serious BDSM? Or more relaxed things, where people dress up, but spankings, whips and the other good things in life are left out? I'm not into the BDSM scene myself, and cringe at the thought of dropping over one night to see what the hoopla is and end up some guy's bitch as a result of being a newbie (It would give me a month's worth of stories though... ).

Fetish Nights vary from place to place. Some places only have 'shows' which are BDSM scenes, done by bar employees, others actually have open playing. Either way, you shouldn't worry about being someone's 'bitch' for anything. No one's required to do anything and if someone does try to coerce you into anything, you should feel free to tell a bar employee or monitor. Most places that allow playing have 'Dungeon Monitors' who patrol the place and just keep an eye out that things are going according to the rules.

Check it out. It's probably not at all indicative of the real scene (in my experience), but it would probably be a decent experience, just to get an idea of things.

Go with an open mind and please, please, don't gawk. Most scene folks are really friendly and if you have questions, they're happy to answer them, so long as you're not interrupting a scene.
