So I've brought the babies home. I haven't taken pictures yet...I don't want to freak them out so soon, but here's the vital stats:

One of them is white (albino I'm guessing) with reddish eyes, and kinda bite-y. So I'm naming her Luna.

The other one is all bandit-y and likes to snuggle. Went straight for my wallet then proceeded to lick my nose and burrow inside my jacket sleeve. I promised my friend Allison I'd name a ferret after her...Allicinnamon.

Will post pics later on this evening.

Very cool. :)

Thanks! I'm sure I'll have plenty of tales to tell...I can already tell they're going to be a handful. :rose:

How does one break ferrets of their nibbling?

Did that say anything about it? I didn't look.

It's got some info on socialzing them and playing with them. :rose: Also grooming and that sort of thing. :)

Well first of all, pictures. Must take pictures.
Second of all, I think you need a third one.

Did you know the little furballs can sleep up to 18 hours a day?

 I feel all warm and fuzzy right now though....

If you were as hyperactive as your average ferret, you'd sleep 18 hours a day too. ;)

Sweet looking little critters, Trinique. :)

They're adorable. :)

I had a dream last night I got two ferrets. I named them Rikki and Tavi.

They like to nibble and bite a little...would chew toys be good for them or should I discourage them of ALL biting...? Any ideas?

I like Ferrets, they're fun and interesting.

Too bad I'm over run by animals right now.

The neatest pet I ever had was a Skunk. No Grumble was not a farm raised descented skunk, he started out as a wild one. What a funny critter. He lived with us for some five years before passing on from old age.

(He loved to wake me up by stomping on my chest.)

Did you have his stink-thingy removed (is it a gland?)--or did you just never make him mad?

Nope,

Never had his scent gland removed. Never needed to.

He was too funny.

I first met Grumble when I was coming home from work. My neighbors cat met me on the front lawn wanting a scratching. Sh wandered around behind me as cats do and I continued scratching her on the other side. Off to the side I saw something moving and looked closer only to see the cat. What or who was I scratching? When I looked down I found I was scratching this Skunk who had decided he wanted in on the action.

Over the next week I was met more than once by this skunk wanting a scritch. He followed me to my building and soon figured out which apartment I lived in. I soon found him waiting on my balcony in the mornings. Me being me, I started feeding him and he hung around. This was during late summer early fall. It started getting colder and yet every day there he was waiting on the balcony for his scratch. He became friendly with my wife and even tolerated our few visitors.

One day I must not have closed the slider all the way when we went to work because I found him curled up inside when we got home that evening. That started it. Now he slept inside, he only went outside twice a day. Once in the morning and once in the evening to do his bussiness.

When friends or family came over he greeted them and wanted a scratch. Never once did he raise his tail, and only occasionally did he thump his front paws.

Yes he did have a distinctive odor, but not as bad as you would expect. He loved to bathe and he would hang around the sink until we filled it with warm water. (Failing that he would crawl into and bathe in any standing water, usually the toilet.) I quickly learned to fill the sink in the evening and let him bathe while having a towel ready for him. (There is nothing worse than a ten pound mass of wet fur curling up on your chest to warm up when you're trying to sleep.)

Like I said he loved to climb up on my chest when the alarm went off in the morning and stamp his front paws until I woke up. He knew that as soon as I got up I would wander into the living room and open the door to let him out for his morning constitutional. By the time I had brewed a pot of coffee he would be waiting by the door wanting to come back inside.

What a critter Grumble was.

We cried when he passed away.

What does the thumping of front paws mean?

More pics!

I've quickly discovered that Cinnie is an attention whore. When she sees the camera, she poses, even going so far at one point to knock Luna out of the way. Lovely demeanor, eh?

Anyway, here are some more pics I took. Tomorrow I'll try to get some of them playing out of the cage...I've ferret proofed my room! :nana:
