A Dunedin model is set to avoid conviction for smashing a man over the head with a wine bottle, so she can pursue her career.

Kopare Charlotte Williams (19) appeared in the Dunedin District Court yesterday. Midway through a judge-alone trial last year she had pleaded guilty to assault with a weapon.

Another charge of injuring with reckless disregard was dropped by the prosecution.

Williams is on the books of Ican Models and Talent and company founder Tracy Cameron told the court in an affidavit the defendant would be dropped by the company if convicted.
Oh, wait, nope, it was a white female who busted a bottle on a man's head, and got away with it.

The silence by feminists is DEAFENING...

I'm puzzled by something. The girl copped a plea. That constitutes a conviction. How can the judge unconvict her?

She made a plea then changed it when she got a better deal. It happens like every fuckin' day.

You know what Jury Nullification is? The jury knows a person is guilty, but votes to acquit for a variety reasons. In this case, the judge knew she was guilty, but decided not to convict her in spite of that.

This was in New Zealand, where laws and mores run in the opposite direction of the Northern Hemisphere. In NZ, not smashing someone over the head with a beer bottle is a violation, not clobbering them with a wine bottle is a misdemeanor, and not hitting them with a 1-gallon pickle jar is a felony. This explains their prison overcrowding. The only defense is to actually swack people over their heads. Start with Peter Jackson, please.

She wasn't acquitted, she has to have counseling and pay restitution. Plus it's in New Zealand, no doubt their courts have different ways of doing things.

And if that had been a man, he'd have gotten a much stiffer sentence, New Zealand or no.

The law is fair; it's not always enforced fairly.
If environmental protection, financial peculation, or civil liberties are involved, it may not be enforced at all. Depending on jurisdiction, of course. Maybe New Zealand judges are insightful.

Yes I know, the law isn't fair. Waaaah. Grow up ya little asswipe.
I don't care how many times you say that, dumbfuck assclown, I'm still going to fight unfair enforcement of the law. And you're still going to be an obsequious little boot licker, right up until that unfairness bites you on your white male ass.
