Having rape fantasies is not uncommon for both men and women. I'm just wandering if women on this forum have such fantasies and what they think of that. Let me emphasize my point right away. Real rape is wrong! But I believe that fantasies are OK as long as we are able to see them as what they are - fantasies.
Rape fantasies are socially very inappropriate. So, why do we have such fantasies? One might say that they originate from a sexist culture where women are potrayed as possessions of men. In such a culture women are socialized to be submissive and men to be dominant. Another explanation might be that women who have rape fantasises were actually forced into sex in their past and that they were conditioned to seek sexual pleasure through forced sex. Or if we look at this from an evolutionary perspective we can say that those women who were accepting of rape had their genes passed onto next generation while those who resisted had less chance of passing genes. Similarly, sexually aggressive men had better chance of passing their sexually aggressive genes than nonaggressive men. I think all three explanations might have some influence although I believe the last one is the most important.
So, I want to hear you thoughts on this controversial topic.
