Female Burglar

I have an idea for a story where a man on the brink of divorce is sleeping on the couch, where he is awakened by the breaking and entering of a female burglar. Well, one thing leads to another, and they make their own little deal...where she gets some items that would have gone to his estranged wife in the divorce...and he gets a nice lay that his wife is obviously not giving him (due to their impending divorce and all). And, of course, the burglar gets away with it. He tells his wife that the burglar was a big, ugly man with a gun who forced him to be quiet.

Another idea (and bear in mind, I don't have time to do these myself, at least not yet, but I am offering them to anyone who wants to act on them), involves a man who is full of rage and resentment toward his exes. This translates into contempt for most women, which becomes increasingly evident, making it so difficult for him to get laid that he resorts to hookers and drunken bar girls. This, in turn, feeds his rage, until the point where he has superhuman powers. The consequences are rather dark and twisted, to say the least. What happens, then, when he meets a girl who understands him better and treats him better than the women that he has resented so much? Do her insights help him? Do his powers go away? Or does he find a better outlet for his hostility?

Intersting. What kind of powers? Have you read The Fermata ?

I think he ought to realize that she is good for him, but be too set in his evil ways to avoid turning on her in the end. That would be properly tragic.

I haven't. Any good? I'm thinking of powers to destroy, of course, as well as powers to intimidate others into bending to his will, through sheer terror. Carrie-like powers in some ways.

Also, the question would be: is tragedy the right path? If so, you have an excellent idea, and it might be something that you'd want to explore yourself.

i'm in the middle of the fermata. it's going slowly because for some reason it constantly creeps me out and i have to stop reading.

That's my favorite thing about it. Nicholson Baker is so cuddly, so babyfaced-bald-and bearded, so John Cusak-like--( I basically identify the author with his character, since I've read all his books and they all have the same voice); that the deep perversity of his idea of reducing women to time frozen statues is all the more pervy. You want to shake his main character and yell "you ain't no nice guy! you are next thing to a rapist who says ( and believes?) "you love it baby!" "

I'm reminded of Amy Smart, who I never really appreciated until "Smith", which showcased her as a real hottie, who happened to be a thief. Mmmmmmmmm

your first idea, if a woman robs a man, could he admit it? that kind of plays on the macho ego, where men have to be stronger then women....so would he be embarrased to admit that he was over taken by a woman?

I like this one, especially, the underlined part.
The second one, I'm not so sure about.

Well, that's where he claims that a male burglar with a gun did it. After all, he is protecting her, since he likes her and helped her steal (he naturally steered her toward theft of those things which would have gone to his wife in the divorce). Basically, he is man a tired of getting locked out of the bedroom too often and he decides to leave his wife. He also suspects that his wife is unfaithful, though he can't prove it. Since his marriage is practically dead and he knows that he won't get caught, a little revenge tryst and conspiracy is not something that he finds so distasteful. There's no sense, in his mind, for waiting for red tape like a formal decree dissolving the marriage before screwing someone else.

Whoa..sounds like this character I am RP on my forum. He is bitter towards all women and frequents the local tavern .He recently became involved in the supernatural. Last he was seen was at the local library trying in vain to shoplift a battered copy of the Necronomican...

Interresting Idea.

Interresting Idea, a female burgler. There are several ways to go here. What if a man catches a female burgler in his house. Her back is against the proverbial wall when caught. He calls the police, she is busted, sent back to the companionship of a cellmate named Butch or Big Bertha. Wanting to get out of it, and avoid the police, she promises to give him whatever he wants. This could be a sex, a slave thing, it could also be a set-up for something else. On the other hand, he could catch her and take her by force, totally have his way with her. I mean, she was caught breaking and entering, what is she goint to do call the police? Yes, a lot of interresting ideas.

My thoughts exactly. Even better, if he could keep contact he could blackmail her for sex over a lnog period of time - maybe she has a lot to lose by going to prison (family etc) and will do anything to stay out

Yes, good twist for an ongoing story. This story could go into so many different catagories.

I'm actually going with the idea that they click and he helps her to some stuff that he'd lose in the divorce anyway in exchange for sex. Hence her willingness to sleep with him. Of course, he also agrees to help her get out of crime and find a better job, in exchange for more sex.

okay, this came to me last night and wrote a couple of pages...and a couple more this morning. she had an x, that is in jail and she is trying to get a way from. along the way her x taught her many things, now she is using that to break free of this small town, and hide...

so she breaks in, looking for cash and stuff. the home owner catches her and grabs her, she screams (in a girl voice - i.e. so the home owner knows its a girl), and a fight breaks out, not too much of a fight, but he pins her, he finds her body hot in a sexy skin tight black outfit she had on. soon, she starts to feel his errection.

this is when he backs her up into the wall, he grabs her tits and squeezes them to capture her attention, then takes out his cell phone and pretends to dial 911. she begs and crys and then this is when she becomes his. he makes the deal with her as she gets up on her hands and knees, he pulls down her pants and she takes his hard cock.....

on the same page as you...he drifted from his wife and now she is busy running the town and playing the big shot.....

Exactly. Hope that you make something of this. Still stuck myself, and I had the idea to begin with...how's that for irony?
