Amazing how many regional variations there are in such as small country as ours. Even within Greater Manchester, you can go from the nasal sounds of the Oasis lads to the Lancashire drawl of country dwellers on the flatlands west of Bolton, to the mill town variations from the likes of Rochdale, Oldham and Bury. Then there's the distinct Salfordian accent of people like Christopher Eccleston (Dr Who, Gone in 60 Seconds) who grew up in a very working class part of Salford. 20 miles either way and your into flavours of scouse, Yorkshire twangs, Cheshire set luvvies and Burrrrnley farmers (us stereotypers are all the same!)
