Hi,

This is my first post on this BB. I'll spare everyone all the backstory about me. I am posting to say how nice it is when I get a comment on one of my stories. In case you didn't know, we authors can access "recent activity" regarding our stories. Whenever someone "favorites" a story or us as an author, a little note to that effect shows up. We can also see when someone "unfavorites" our story or us. It's funny how quickly we (or one of our stories) can be favorited and then quickly unfavorited.

I love getting comments on my stories, especially from women. The longer the better. It means a lot and it turns me on to think that my words, sometimes written years ago, have excited a lady somewhere out there to the point where she wants to say thank you. I used to do phone sex and always preferred getting a lady off to actually getting off myself. I guess it makes me feel like a stud to get a lady off, even if it is with my words.

Thanks for reading and commenting.

Is that still the case for you?

I think that's been disabled because there was a thread complaining about it (rightfully so, it's annoying to look at)

I used to see un-favorting a lot (as have we all) but that's stopped in the past few months. I tried favoriting and unfavorting myself, and the unfavoriting doesn't show up. (thankfully)

But yeah, I agree with you.

I didn't know that feature was removed...

Anyway, good to know.

Un-favouriting may just mean people have bookmarked your story for a couple of reads, and then tidy up their "follow" lists when they have moved on. It doesn't necessarily mean they've changed their mind about your story.

Agree, it's always a buzz to get comments or reactions; I find that you will get far more people scoring your story than will ever comment.

One of my favourite comments was from an anon who said he/she had never ever commented before, so that story had a powerful effect on the reader. It's that type of comment that counts - when people make the effort to do it.

And of course the trolls, you'll get them popping up, inevitably. Leave em or delete them - it's up to you. You get to moderate every comment received.

I've received many comments, mostly good, but I don't think I can forget this dude who wrote an essay on my essay.

Just Epic.

I will always have a special place in my heart for comments like these

more of LC's usual hack work

wish he'd write something interesting for a change -- feh

Those never fail to make me laugh.

That feature was removed in part due to the thread an author started where he pissed and moaned some readers constantly fav and unfav and oh, how annoying it was.

I really think lit went PC with this. They don't want anyone feeling bad or being discouraged if they see that terrible broken heart:rolleyes:

Makes me wonder if eventually we will see and end to H's, W's, E's top lists and scores period, you know anything that might make the thin skinned feel bad.

I've read some of your stories. (Not saying which ones). Keep up the good work. :)

:rose:

I haven't received any such notification in recent weeks.

Alright, I'll favourite myself and then un-favourite again right now. Let's see if it works.

ETA: Okay, so it didn't show the fact that I un-favourited myself. And all this while I thought I had a permanent place on people's favourite list.

Bummer. :(

Well darn, I didn't know the Un-Favoriting notification was disabled. For the last few months I haven't seen one as was going along all fat-dumb-and-happy thinking that everyone liked me.

Amazingly even though I haven't posted anything since last October I get a regular and steady eight to ten favorites a month on my 26 stories/poems. OK, the poems get no traffic at all, but a few of the stories still do.
