Feeling for those in our Lit family who were personally affected on 9/11

With so many people in Lit, some of us must have been directly affected by the 9/11 tragedy. For those of you who lost loved ones, my prayers are with you today and always. For those of you who survived the disaster, I pray that you are well; both physically and psychologically. For all of the heroes of 9/11, there are no words I can think of to appropriately honor you. Your courage was and still is unsurpassed. It makes me wonder if I would ever be able to be as brave as you all were, are, and will be.

If any of you feel like you would like to share your story, please feel free to do so here. If you would just like to leave the name of a loved one who was lost, please do. If you simply feel comforted knowing that you are in so many of our thoughts and prayers, then my mission has been accomplished. So, in honor and memory, I devote this day of rememberance and prayer to you all.

I hope that there is comfort found for all in the knowlege that whether we were directly affected or not , we all feel the pain of those that were. they will never be forgotten. Thier lives whether they were rescuers or janitors, will be remembered. I feel the best way to memorialize them all is to teach tolerance, and love to our children and everyone we come in contact with. It took a horrible amount of hatred to do that evil, it will take an incredible amount of love to keep it from happening again in the future. if each person could think of something they could do on this day each year to spread a message of peace that would be the best way to pay our respects to those who have suffered.

I didn't know anyone personally that died, but my son was in New York at the time, and I was very concerned about him. Interestingly enough, I wasn't sure he was there or not, as he lives in Chicago, but was planning a visit there soon. I had a gut feeling he was there, and was correct.

Luckily he wasn't anywhere near ground zero at the time. He'd just been there two days previously, however. That sent shivers down my spine when I heard that.

One of his best friends saw the second tower fall from a subway train. Lucky for him, he'd missed his first connection, and had arrived late.

I find myself feeling similar to a year ago. Awe, horror, and pain.

I just want to say to those who were affected in 9/11 it was a horrible thing but i believe everything happen for a reason i believe that this happen to make everyone in america to realize that we do need each other no matter how different we are we all need the same things love,friends,jobs, we all need the same things i just want to say we should not dwell on the past and just remember the ones that were lost were not lost in vain and i pray for the familys and for everyone just remember God is here always watching and it may not feel like he is but he is always there and he will always be there for us so just do the simple thing and pray its not heard and he listens and remember are on personial angels are taking care. The one that where lost are with God now and hurt no more so do not dwell andjust remember that things happen for a reason and remember the words of the plegde "One Nation Under God" we are one and maybe 9/11 needed to happen for us to realize somtimes it takes more for us to see the big pic. Much Love to every Princess Amber I will be praying for everyone and hope that people will not dwell on this things happen but for reason remember this God is always there and so are the Angles
