Earlier today I was browsing through the feedback portal. Of the 15 comments visible at the time, 6 of them were about submissions from ONE writer. They were all anonymous and astonishingly (!) concerned SIX different stories.
Was this a remarkable coincidence that six people were all reading and commenting anonymously on six different stories by the same author at the same time or was the author 'promoting' their own work?

And, no, I didn't have anything better to do

Could've been someone who read something, liked it, then read through other submissions by that author and commented on each submission.

Yes it could have....if they can speed read the submissions, compose their reaction and then speed type so as to get their comments up in the space of a few minutes before they disappear. In just a couple of minutes, a few comments can drop off the list to be replaced by others.

The Feedback Portal doesn't update nearly that fast. At least, not that I've seen.
