I am a newbie as an author. I have found the feedback to be delightful. I rather enjoy hearing that what I have written has turned readers on. It means that I am doing my job at writing a story right.

The feedback has given me the encouragement to keep writing, and it let me know that there are things some men enjoy reading more about.

The good feeback is quite a boost isn't it?

Just be prepared, we all get comments from Anonymous, sooner or later, that aren't quite complimentary. Just take them for what they're worth, considering s/he's too chicken to post with his name. But, don't let it keep you from writing.

Me too.

So, how about putting a link to your stories in your signature so we can go read them?
Thanks.:)

Doing Unto Others...

You are correct, getting that feedback and knowing that you made someone smile (or more, better) is wonderful.

Make sure you repay your readers' kindness with a reply to any feedback you get, even if it is only a simple "Thank you". Feedback is rare, as a percentage of Views, so cherish it. And nothing turns off a reader who takes the time to send an author a compliment to never get an acknowledgment of their feedback.

And take the time to offer some feedback (and votes) for the stories that you read, and like. You can make someone else's day, too.

All in all, a virtuous circle.

Sin.

How do I thank the people who have given me feed back? Post a thank you in the comments?

I have gotten email, and I wondered how to thank them. I was told to be very careful.

To be careful with replies, probably the best way is just to have a separate e-mail account for it, so all your feelthy postcards and stalkers don't clutter up your everyday life. :)

That done, do reply to any e-mail feedback you get (as long as it was more than about three words, is my rule of thumb): everyone seems to appreciate it. Some people e-mail writers who leave named public comments.

Thanks you all. I appreciate your insight on this. I am still amazed that people will read what I write..... and I probably should not say this, but it tickles me to death that I am making so many people happy..... :)

Do get a nice hotmail address or something similar though so that when you get the occasional invitation to more intimacy than you are comfortable with you can either trash the letter or happily reply as I have "Thank you for your interest. Be please reminded I AM 57 years old, my husband goes armed at work and as an ex-law-enforcement officer I am reasonably able to cause pain myself to intruders."

Ohhhh you're not alone on that one Leeleigh! Everytime I get one, I thank them for the great feedback and tell them how much they motivate me... and that I love hearing what they did with my stories! Yes, I'm weird but it's so fun knowing you're making their day! Who'da thunk it?
