My first multi-part story, in Non-Consent/Reluctance. Was told in a single comment that there's a bit of a pacing problem, where I thought I was establishing character. Part 2, which is where the sexual action really begins, is pending. Any feedback or commentary is appreciated. Also with my previous story, "Teacher Becomes The Student", in First Time - which, BTW, IS autobiographical.

I don't care for non-con, so I won't read the story, but I wanted to say -- as far as the comments go, don't take one (or even more) as "truth." They are opinions; you may get another that feels the pacing is fine. If you feel that a comment(s) makes a point worth investigating, then do so. Otherwise, don't feel obligated and don't feel that the commenter is necessarily right.

Generally when I get comments like that, I just file it away. If I get several comments on the same thing, then I will look it over, because I feel if more than one person is picking up on the same issue, then there may in fact be a problem.

Good luck with your writing. :)

Like PL I won't read non con, but as for the 'pace' problem the fact is each category varies and non con is a blunt simple fantasy and they want it, period. They don't want 'pace' and build up, just take the bitch is what drives them. It's a primal kink and not a readership known for patience.

But as long as you wrote it the way you feel you wanted to and you're happy with it, don't sweat it. Also there will be some readers there who don't mind the wait and slower burn, but for NC the are the minority.

I read it and it was a decent setup. However, most people come here to read stories to get off, so it's kind of an unwritten rule that there will be some sex in every chapter. But it's your story, write what you want.

If you want to pick up the pace, open with the walk home and fill in the details as you go along -- in media res.

"A sex scene in every chapter" used to be a written rule, actually. Before the e-book revolution burgeoned the offerings of erotica, print erotica publishers had such a rule.
