Feedback or collaboration or advice on finishing a Victorian BDSM book

I have a book I want to finish before I die. It's BDSM thing based in something like Victorian times with a touch of steampunk (but physics is NOT damned, and real fucking machines* are described), references to real figures from the past (adding their "unknown kinky side") and generally musing about the sexual rage that might have been going on under the proper public life.

I've only been working on it for freaking years now. I'm not young, and my heath, while not terminal, is starting to remind me I'm not going to live that much longer.

I'd like to be done with this thing. I love it, and I think it's one of the best things I've written, by far, but I'm having a hell of a time finishing it.

So any advice?

- What do you do to motivate the completion of your stories?

- Would you read what I've written and actually make suggestions (e.g. not just read it and say "oh that was nice" and wander off)?

- Anyone who loves that (very slim) genre of BDSM, Victorian history, and actual machines, and have experience writing care to collaborate on it? I've done that before with both men and women and generally enjoyed it. I use google docs, and that makes it easy once you learn the system (which is easy to learn).

In any case, be nice to an old sadist, ok? We deserve kindness too. LOL.

P.S. * just in case that wasn't clear, "real fucking machine" means realistic machines that are made for fucking.

For motivation, it's all about finding the right idea. If you have an idea that you really love, then motivation is easy. If the well has temporarily run dry, then it can be a dry. Basically I keep on thinking.

Writing book-length fiction is a heavy lift. I thought I was writing a novel over two years ago but I decided to practice with short stories first (some of them had the same characters).

I see you already have a nine-part series published over five months. I suppose the book you propose is longer than that?
