Hello, my name is GoldenCojones and I am a feedback-oholic.

I try to resist. I really do. But no matter what, whenever I post a story I can't help myself. I sit and endlessly refresh my submissions page, hoping for one more comment. Or another Favorite. Then it's over to my email, clicking hopelessly on "refresh" hoping for that one email about my story.

It doesn't matter if the comment is positive or negative nearly as much as just getting a comment, or an email. I'm hooked. <sigh>

Sits down, head in hands, sobbing quietly

I'm getting jaded. I check my recent activity page once or twice a day. Half the time when I see someone left a comment, I don't even click on them anymore.

The "OMG you are the greatest" comments are as useless and "Aren't you dead yet, faggot?" and unfortunately there seems to rarely be anything in between that is really useful.

Feedback is nice, either way. Makes you smile or groan, it its a sign that someone took a shot. There is no way that any story is going to appeal to everyone.

Still its good to be appreciated.

Nose to the grindstone

I'm addicted to feedback!, now if I can just finish my story and submit it maybe I can get some feedback of my own.

*proof reading intensifies*

I was like the OP at first. But my stories usually don't get much feedback, except for my brief foray in the LW.

I check into email and then go to Lit once a day to check in to see likes and the occasional comment. I do enjoy them, but but I too am a little jaded. Once a day is plenty.

Yup, I'm addicted too.

I find it odd how different stories compare in terms of feedback. A long story gets much fewer votes and comments, but it often gets higher votes because it's often only those who stick with the story to the end who vote, weeding out those who think 'meh!' My latest story is my first in the EC bucket, and I'm surprised at how many views, votes and comments it's getting.

I don't know about replying to comments. Sometimes there's a comment that's left that feels like it deserves a reply. Often I can let it go, but sometimes I do think some engagement might be nice. Yet the comment system isn't really set up for author replies. Is it best just to read comments and then move on?

Pray tell more about your LW foray. I have a draft story lined up for LW, but it isn't cuckoldry, which seems to be all the LW crowd want to read.

Clearly you are not alone. :rose: It's always nice to know someone is listening and doubly so that they appreciate your efforts.

My experience with LW is that a story with a strong or dominant woman, especially one who dominates and steps out on her hubby, (making him into a cuckold as defined in these stories) will get you tons and tons of views, votes, and comments.

Unfortunately most of these comments are negative, very negative, even vitriolic. You might be subjected to personal slurs and threats.

My advice is to grow a thick skin. And put a sexy cuck story in Fetish, if you have the wife feminizing hubby, you might also put it in TS/CD, although I think fetish will cover that as well.

Edited: but you are right. Many of the stories are cuck stories, but plenty are just wives having fun.

So the LW crowd want cuckoldry, but they want the man to be in control, making his wife have sex with other men. And they hate it when a wife is taking control of the cuckoldry. Is that right? If so, it sounds pretty misogynistic.

My draft that I'm considering for LW is about a disabled woman who wants to give her husband sex again as they had before the accident. She hires a prostitute to help, thinking that he'll just have sex with her, but the prostitute manages to bring them closer together. I could put it in GS, but I feel it's softer and more tender than GS should be.

Any feedback or comments, pro or con, show that I (the author) has written something sufficient to provoke a reaction. It's much better than being ignored. If I get a reaction, I've done my job.

But obsessing over feedback? Nope. My advice: Life. Get one. Or a dog, sure. Just not one that sleeps, drools, and farts constantly.

A Dog? Nah, too much obligation. It's always "Hey feed me, scratch my ears, watch me wipe my butt on your carpet, hmm, I need to lick my self, there, now I want to lick your face." :D

I really do have a life ;) That's why I've only been able to post six stories. My damned life keeps getting in the way of my true obsession
