I get the most impassioned feedback on stories I’ve written that are in the BDSM category. Readers in that category really seem to respond on a visceral level, and are the most broad-minded (which makes sense, I guess). I’ve gotten the most thoughtful feedback on novellas. People who give feedback in “Romance” seem to be especially picky and have a hard time separating reality from fiction. They want things just so.

Exhibitionism and Voyeur stories generate little feedback, as if these people want to stay hidden, and I get little from Sc Fi and Fantasy too, although what I have receieved is appreciative of imagination and plot tricks.

Anyone else see any patterns?

Feedback from lesbian sex is pretty strong and empassioned. Also thoughtful if you put some time into a story line. The readers seem to be less concerned with the pure sex than the lead up to sex and the reasons behind it.

Sci-fi fantasy get decent feedback per reads, but fewer reads and thus less feedback.

My one forray into Bd/Sm got me about what you saw. A lot of thoughtful and open minded responses.

Yep, my bdsm 'lite' gets me passion and propositions, even people angry when my e-girl isn't treated right.

Only have two non-bdsm stories which rec'd fine fb, but not like the others.

I've had most feedback from an incest thingie of mine, actually the only story placed in the category I asked for. The rest have been put where the site admin feel fit and have consequently received less feedback from the non-target audience.

Had one apologetic feedback to my Non-Con story "Balham..." whose author admitted that he felt guilty for enjoying the scene so much due to its main character's obvious unwillingness, but couldn't stop jacking off to it nontheless. Which I reckon is a positive vote. :D
