These figures do not count state contributions to federal welfare programs (primarily on low-income health assistance) which brought total welfare spending in FY2011 to more than $1 trillion – dwarfing any other budget item including Medicare and Social Security, and totaling enough to mail every household in poverty a check for 60k each year.

Get a plastic bag, place it completely over and around your head and face, tywrap it tightly around your neck, close your eyes...

...and soon you'll never have to "see" another thread like this again.

Or...

...you can keep complaining like a little girl about threads like these, while you try and play a man cyberjacking with a dishonest married chick behind her husband's back.

Your choice, dude...

When you have a Republican staff member manipulating the data from not one, but two separate studies, each done differently, do you think for a moment that they wouldn't come up with a graph that wouldn't say what they wanted it to say?

Then we have idiots using the graph to try to make a point. Yet, if they actually read the subtitle, they would see that even the Republicans aren't trying to fix the problem...just "slow the growth" by 20% to save 1 trillion over 10 years...or the equivalent of 200 F-22 Raptors per year. If Republicans put half the effort into fixing the problem instead of trying to blame the problem on the present administration, the problem would be fixed.

It's really alright, -boy...

...your Party credentials have long been well established here - you don't have to prove your partisanship anymore.

Sucks to know I am right huh? Sorry to have killed your thread. Better luck next time with your cut and paste job.

I don't object to pointing out both parties are the cause of the problem.
There is no disputing spending is out of control.

Wages are stagnating, causing even working families to qualify for welfare benefits. So conservatives want to take away their benefits now as well. It's third-world politics at its best.

Wal-Mart will save the day by hiring all Welfare Moms as Greeters.

...just as soon as they get finished with hiring the US Army as stock-boys.

expected, of course:D

Growing the economy doesn't mean increased wages. Walmart increased its sails by double-digits the past few quarters as profits soared. The rich few at the top of the pyramid get exponentially richer while their employees making $9 per hour still make $9 per hour.

I never new Walmart was in the boat business.

But no matter. Much of Walmart's holiday advertising focused on how much shoppers could save shopping at their stores. And it's true.
That gives people more money to spend on other stuff.
It's not Walmart's fault that Obama is creating an economy that funnels shoppers toward the retail giant.

You think Obama created the notion of consumers saving money? And that shoppers shopping a lot at Walmart is a product of Obama's policies?

The looting of the civil society complete, Leviathan erects a burial mound on top of the corpse of sufficient weight to make sure it never sees the light of day again.

Our peril comes when we must wage a war with the burden of debt we already have, plus whatever the war requires. For then we're Weimar Germany. I cant name anyone whose added a war to the equation.
